I suppose this is better camouflage than the usual, as no one would be looking out for a tank in a holiday tent.
Someone one told me that during a military exercise the Belgian army camouflaged a tank by putting a tree on top of the turret. There was some incredulity when a soldier on the other side in the exercise came with a report of a tree that was rotating this way and that.

Well... Camp site, Kampf site... the tank is WWII era and looked German to me and Kampf is a German word most notably used as part of the title of Hitler's book "Mein Kamf" (my struggle).

I agree mostly - but one example, the internet, is a direct descendent of the arpa-net/darpa-net - a DoD creation: a network designed to literally survive a nuclear war. If it had simply been created to fill a perceived need - no one in their right mind would design it to survive a nuclear war - but without that feature - it's doubtful it would have come so far so fast - it would have been taken down many times - and who knows how people would have reacted to it.
Still - one likes to think we can aim that same passion and ability without the need to involve war. Maybe like going to the moon.

Good points, all. Though I think the virsuses and such are not so much the network's fault, as badly designed operating systems and mail readers (as I say, way too often: I blame Bill Gates). But, I do think the internet may yet help us to lift ourselves up to at least a higher level where we have less need of oppressive governments and maybe we can find a way with, at least, less war.
One can hope.

In fact, the network structure by itself, as well as the one used for emails doesn't have any protection. This how dangerous threats can spread.
And yes, this is one aspect of the electronic war, the other one being the operating systems. As Windows is the most frequently used, it is the most frequently attacked but the other ones are not always better protected, they are simply less frequently a target. Except for Android and iOS based mobiles and tablets which are becoming very interesting targets for the pirates and their employers.

The reason Windows suffered so mightily from virus was not just because it was a bigger target. I was a badly designed OS. It's better now.
