Description Indra’s shirt was still hot from the brew she spilled on herself while going through the many samples she made today. Almost ready to give up as she can’t ignore that her stomach and ribs were still aching. Her tongue no different, unable to taste anymore as she burned it one too many times today.

She glanced to her side as Ramona held another freshly brewed cup of Ebony near her lips. Ramona’s nose squinted as she sniffed the aroma with her eyes closed. She seemed interested in this one. Her lips parted and the sound of her slurping the hot brew followed. Ramona’s hair fell over her face. Making her reaction a mystery that Indra almost couldn’t bare.

Indra proceeded to pour another cup and glanced back at mom who was now looking at back at her with glee in her eyes.

Ramona raises a thumb, “This is just right!”

Indra put down the kettle, it clanked really loudly, she nearly singed the top of her fingers on it.

“We finally did it!?” Indra asks.

“Yes! Finally!” Confirmed Ramona, who followed with a tight hug. “I’m so proud of you girl. You’ve come a long way” she continued.

Moments that were spent learning how to grow and cultivate coffee plants in Ramona’s garden. To harvesting, roasting, and grinding the seeds. The frustrating experimentation with the many ways to brew and recreate the flavor from an old can found floating in the trash had come to this moment flashed before Indra’s eyes. Temporarily blurring her vision. The burns, the spills, the failures, and the pain. Only returning to focus on Mom’s glassy eyes smiling from behind her curly locks of hair. Made it all feel worth it. It was truly a labor of love and she didn’t do it alone for once. Indra smiled back, she could feel it stretch across her face. The future looks a little brighter.

Now to modernize it and bring the new Ebony into Mom’s shoppe. She could only hope Ebony’s return won’t be a failure. It was on her to create new and exciting ways to enjoy Ebony Coffee now.

Indra realizes that this was half the fight but the rest should be…easier. At least she hopes.

Indra returns her attention to the dirty kitchen counter and takes in the mess they made.

It’s time to get back to work…

————————-

Mother’s Day has come and past.

I wasn’t sure if I had anything worth posting for that day. Then I remembered I made this piece of Indra and Mom finalizing and perfecting the new Ebony brew.

This takes place long before Mom introduced Ebony to her coffee shoppe which already had a small cult following. However, it was Ebony that really put it on the map because it was the only place Ebony could be found for a time. Many people just discovering it then, though it’s been around for a while.

I also took Indra’s latest model for a test run here. I was really proud of it. I finally perfected that golden glow and undertones on her. From her hair to her toes, she oozed gold and I’m glad I finally did it. This is probably what her future model will look like moving forward. However, I still have a few pieces I made while I was still experimenting with her look. It will work out, trust me lol.

On the personal side of things, I’ve been going through a lot. Who isn’t? As a result, I haven’t been able to post much or make anything new lately but I haven’t given up on it yet. I plan on picking it back up soon.

This is my new favorite piece of Indra with her Mom.

Anyway, I know it’s late but I just wanna say Happy Mother’s Day!
