Still on the prowl for more of these cream/coffee colored ammonites. This is only the second one I've managed to find and no one at shows seems to know what mineral difference leads to not just the difference in color but in crystals-most of the ones I've seen in any color have traditional squarish crystals in the open chambers, these have very fine needle ones that have a slight shimmer and give the filled chambers a fibrous, cat-eye effect. Ideas?

I wrapped this one in vintage bronze coated copper-I liked the similarity in color family with the much darker color and since the crystals look so delicate I didn't want to wrap it in something that would tarnish!
