Made for AliceFelidae over on FA, designed by :devpainted-bee:On the reference sheet it says: "Anthous is a small plant spirit who looks after the blooming and polination of the star shaped flowers of spring and summer. If you keep such flowers in your bedroom, he will visit you in your dreams."
The trickiest part of this commission was getting the dripping nectar whiskers right and the fleshy leafy petal ears posable. They rotate back and forth and up and down thanks to a ball-and-socket rig. The entire body has wire running through it so it can be gentle repositioned, and his face and paws are polymer clay painted with acrylics.

Who honestly needs to suck up to Lee's poseable artwork when really on deviantArt there are much more creative and fun art dolls than hers?!?!Β People who stick to her like bugs on flypaper don't see the point...

Its desing is very complicated. I bet you one of the few people that couldΒ
possibly accept such difficult challenge! I admire that on you!
As an artisan interested as I am, I usually like to know the materials that were
used on artworks, such as the petals and stuff, and if it was airbrushed orΒ
what. Anyway, I like to know details like this, but maybe is just me! XD

Well the petals were actually designed on the computer then printed. They have a lot og subtle speckles snd detail you cant see in the photos. The image was then transferred onto liquid fimo an reinforced with silk, then I added little details like the spots. They were heated up and shaped into the right form with a spoon. It was a really long process that I would definitely do differently next time! I would just airbrush them next time hehe.

Latex would be a cool thing to make them from but it discolours over time, unless it's a really dark colour it doesnt look too good after a couple of months in daylight.
