Description
Do you remember the pokemon sprites of generation 1 and 2?I remember charizard, kangaskan and mewtwo being like this but I can't remember others. Sandslash, maybe?
I used Dan Gartman's tutorial for this illustration. The technique is a mix of vector and digital art using photoshop and illustrator.

I remember seeing some fanart that took these sprites and drew them as if they were actual unique Pokemon themselves. Can't seem to find it again though.

Yeah, the original Gold and Silver games used the same sprite. It was fun to not knowing the pokemon that it was. But seeing lugia sprite was something special, don't you agree?

That's true, sprites now are much better! The lugia's sprite was the first to be "the pokemon" itself, so it was cool
