Description
Pokedex Challenge #52 #53I'm drawing the pokemons as they appear in the gameboy games: pokemon red and blue version, while I learn how to draw with Paint Tool Sai.

I had to redraw this one from scratch because my computer stopped working. I'm so glad I finished it!

Aw man I just noticed that psyducks old sprite looks a lot like Edward Munchs painting the scream, although he looks more confused than shocked tbh kek

Golduck was more a kappa than a duck back then.... but if you think about it, it's a great concept to "merge" a normal being with a creature like that.

Yeah! Mixing creatures is fun, especially because most of the mythological creatures are all about that
Sometimes I like to look at bestiaries and try making the creatures from it.

Oh, Golduck had tinier eyes and a bigger beak in its early days and had four fingers on its hands instead of three. I love that little interaction between Psyduck and Seel at the background ^^

Oh true, it definitely has those Kappa vibes. I think a pokemon with a design based on a gill-man (like the Creature of the Black Lagoon or the amphibian man in The Shape of Water) would be a cool idea and concept

lol A pokemon like gill-man would be cool. Why there's so much amphibian / reptilian marine creatures? It's rare to find something more normal like a fish or a whale.
