Leave me be, said the Star.
For thou are a man, and their lot is not to be trusted.

I am no man, said the Raven God.
For their flesh is frail and feeds my children.

Then what is thine wish? Has thou come to
mock me in my anguish like the others? To defile
me? To corrupt what little hope remains
within this dying ember?

No dearest Star, I have come to help
you heal, if you allow me.

I do not trust thee, said the Star.

You do not have to, answered the Raven.

But she let him place his claws upon her, and he
did not rake and did not rend. But held her firmly in
his talons, clutching her safely to return her back
to her place among the night-time sky.
