Oooooooh, all your concept art of Alhazred has shown him with a right arm consumed or replaced by some eldritch mass. And based on the placement of the thumb and fingers, that's his right hand. Clever

According to August Derleth,in THE KEEPER OF THE KEY, Abdul's death was an illusion to deter others from repeating his sin . He was taken by THEM to the Nameless City, and there tortured .Before he died, he hid his manuscript. Curwen and his then assistant won to the vault where Abdul was sealed and by the rites, summoned him and asked the blind mute spectre to tell them where the manuscript was hidden. He made gestures to indicate the work's hiding place. Having obtained the unique artifact, the two then made their way back to civilization, tho pestered by changelings from the Nameless City.
