Description
This area of the Underground is much more eerie than the previous two... There are cracks in the walls and roof of the cavern that spill water into large pools that simply sit, with nowhere for the water to go. The air is cool and damp. As you progress, you barely encounter any monsters, and a rancid stench gradually fills the air.

"Dude! What are you doing?!" The next thing you know, you're tackled to the ground by a relatively small monster, but he's still far larger than you. "Are you going to the swamp...? That's suicidal!"

You assure the monster that you don't even know what he means by "the swamp". You introduce yourself. "Oh uh..." he says awkwardly as he gets off of you finally, "Hi. Um... You can call me MK, everyone does. ...what are you doing out here alone, dude?"

You respond with the same question. He sways his tail somewhat nervously as he goes over to a sack on the ground and picks it up with his front teeth. Surprisingly, it doesn't hinder his speech. "Well... I'm kinda... Stealing food and running and hiding so I don't die." Why should a child like him need to steal food? "You see uh... My parents are kinda...dead... I've been stealing from the swamp for a couple years now, so they'll probably kill me if they ever catch me..."

As you're about to try and comfort him, he suddenly looks alarmed. "Dude, we gotta hide!" he says in a harsh whisper. "Come on!" He leads you down a slope next to a waterfall and under a boardwalk. He is silent, and so you are silent as well. You both listen anxiously as footsteps on the boardwalk above you approach, stop for a terrifying moment, and then fade away.

MK grins like he just stole from a candy store. "Ha! She didn't suspect a thing!" You ask him who that was. "Oh yeah, you're new here... That was Undyne. She's the captain of the Royal Guard. They're mainly in charge of protecting all the farms and stuff. And uh..." he says, glancing awkwardly at you, "killing humans... Undyne mainly patrols around the swamp, since it's the best farm."

You ask him about the swamp he keeps referring to. "Oh yeah! Well, you smell that, right? That smell's coming from the swamp. The swamp's water comes from all the way on the surface, and lots of things grow there because of all the trash from the human world. Like water sausages! Wanna try one? I was able to grab, like, a dozen..."

Before continuing on, you decide to have a brief snack with your new friend.

Things have been relatively peaceful so far. That's about to change. A lot.

With Undyne, I decided to make her "hair" like a betta fish's fins.
