I am a dabbler novice in watercolours and other visual arts, so I can't really articulate what I like about this specifically. I am impressed by your use of colours to create depth - specifically the bluish and chrome shades contrasting the dominant salmon colour.
The whole piece has that "effect-of" reality rather than 1:1 mimesis, like an impressionist painting. I really enjoy that aesthetic, and I enjoy this piece.

some of the characters look like the old style of hiragana so I think it's japanese. did you use rice paper? the calligraphy looks like it was written on rice paper, you know, how it bleeds around the edges if you have too much water in your brush. I think, though, you should have made the left side darker though, because the pot lacks a sense of roundedness...just a thought. though the colors are really nice.

ah ...no I'm pretty sure it's chinese. I asked my friend stella if she knew, cause well...she's chinese and all, and she said yep. she didnt tell me what it said though. *hangs head* it didnt even accore for me to ask *laughs* nope i used canson paper. i feel the piece has a good sense of shadow and light. this is only a scaned version of it though....so you loose the real effect of seeing it in person. the color is the color of the paper... i only used black ink and white acrylic on this piece.
