I haven't tried drawing any Dragonball characters in some years, and I felt it was time to give it a shot. I noticed recently that there was a lot of fandom on DA and elsewhere for Bulma and Vegeta, and why not? I too love these characters, so I figured I'd take a shot at rendering these guys. I was reading my old comments on this one and apparently I promised to fav it once you worked on it some more. Well, Cell is hanging out in the background and he seems to have stolen Diabolik's eyebrows, so that alone has me convinced. I like the fishnet in Bulma's dress. Hotcha.

I liked Cell too, although I thought his first "bug/reptile" stage was the coolest.

That's quite a "reinvintion" of dragonball. Pretty cool; Cell in the background is my favorite part.

I think he was always my favorite DBZ villain, in concept and design. Besides, he was most appropriate for a Bulma/Vegeta backdrop, since it was during the Cell saga that they got bi-zay and produced Trunks.
I like how the crumpled brown paper bag I used comes out sorta like a rocky wall or something. The background's set to "overlap" so it responds well to the lighting and colors that were already present in the drawing.

Looks nice. Normally I would caution against using so much black, but it seems to work with the image. Bulma does look pretty sexed-up, although I personally wouldn't have made her rib cage stick out so much because I personally find that a little gross. But, to each his own.
I think you could also stand to darken up the background or put in some kind of information other than just the field.
I can tell you used your own hand for the reference on Vegeta's fist. So now everybody on Deviant Art knows what your hand looks like.
Nice job altogether. I think you've got a real winner here, in the works at least, if not already.

Also, everybody on DA knows that my fist glows with radiant power. It was a real bitch building up the power to do that just for reference, but it was worth it.
Actually, I'm still working on this, so there'll be an update coming up in the near future.

You know how Akira Toriyama characters look correct only when drawn with his style? Yeah, I like how you just went and drew the characters with your style. Awesome work, Bulma looks hot

I try never to draw a character in the same style he/she's always drawn in. I'm pretty proud of my Bulma, she's one of the hottest ladies I think I've ever drawn, particularly since breasts in perspective can be a royal pain to get right. Only problem I had in figuring her out was what color to make her hair. I'm pretty sure it's green throughout most of the DBZ anime, but it's purple in GT and either purple or blue or green in original DB. I think that's right anyway. Vegeta's hair was rust-brown in the earliest episodes he was in, and I didn't want to draw it gray or jet black, so I went with that route. So I'm trying to be accurate to some extent, at least!

I still say this looks like a strange take on "DBZ : Itallian Thiefs Edition" if you catch my drift.

Glad you like! Although this isn't really a typical Bulma outfit, it is loosely based on one I've seen a picture of. There's not much to Vegeta, some blue pants and you're good to go.

I took screenshots from an "Advent Children" trailer and formated it into gif form with a special animator. Took a long time for 3 seconds of creepyness
