this art piece means A LOT to me, you have no idea.
I put all my effort and emotions on it.
Leonardo and Edward fighting to death... wow.
I never thought I would see such a scene.
but Fire Emblem: Awakening made this happen.
I first recruited Leonardo and used him to recruit Edward...
maybe you know how much I love those two and how they're special for me.
so this scene was very deep for me.
I often think about the Einherjar.
how they're confused on the battlefield.
they know who they are, or who they think they are... but they're not really conscious of what exactly they're doing.
they're weapons, but... they still have feelings...

well... no they don't recognize, this is part of my message in this drawing, they're fighting each other because they're just "possessed" cards. but i like to think about how this would end, and they would remember each other eventually and stop fighting, because their bond was so strong.
( it's part of a fan comic i plan on drawing someday )
in-game the einherjar don't have any personality, they're just generic units (with a few exceptions).
but at least you can pair up the units and make leo and ed fight together...

I know riiiiiiiight. It's one thing to use the character filters on ffn but there are people who don't list it and just put it in the summary... which wouldn't be so bad... if the Fire Emblem section wasn't swarmed to the teeth with Awakening and Fates fics...

honestly, if " marriage system " was the only thing to blame, FE4 would also have a huge fanbase since it also has the marriage system.

people tend to think its a new thing introduced in awakening but FE4 also has a children/second generation.
same with thinking awakening introduced the "walk on map" thing and monster battles, when actually Gaiden and the Sacred Stones have it as well.

actually it was only for a fanfiction I wrote but now it's just a running gag or something...
same with saying that Leonardo is a snake and that he makes snake noises when he talks

Also a rather accurate representation of what I did while recruiting Leonardo- I pit an underleveled Edward against him and let Maribelle heal him from the sidelines. Later on I constantly let them fight together, though.

well, they're among my favorite characters. I always use Leonardo and Edward in 'pair up' to fight and they have all possible skills to support each other.

they indeed make an amazing duo in my Awakening file. I'm so glad with the addition of "pair up" system. Leo and Ed can fight together now...well I think my Ed and Leo never fought separately since then. I pratically see them as one, inseparable pair. and I also got them a Skill set with all possible supportive skills.

The coloring is pleasing to the eye, and the atmosphere... it's suitably tense. The angle reminds me of the classic side-view of battles found in Fire Emblem games. I still have ways to go before I'm at this level of skill... Well done! 9/10
I think I feel the same way about the Einherjar... they're pretty tragic beings. I went in-depth with the concept, actually, and started a fan fic. I used all my skills as a writer and humorist to make a mix of light-hearted comedy and philosophical drama. I dunno if it's really THAT good (automatic self-doubt is at work), but if you want, I can give you a link to it later. Anyways, have a nice day!

and you're absolutely right about the side-view battle, it indeed looks very similar to them, I can almost visualize HP bars there...haha thanks for pointing it, I hadn't noticed, because I didn't make it on purpose... but obviously it was my subconscient influenced by the side-view battles ( also for the poses )
and actually the side-view is also possible in FE10 because you can choose to fix the angle, but I still have to check if it's possible in Awakening.
ah, nice to find someone who shares this same view in the Einherjar !

my focus will be the philosophical / psychologic side... I'm not sure about comedy though, probably yes, a bit of comedy always gives a nice touch...

Ah, about not giving it a 10/10... it may simply be because I'm not very in-depth familiar with Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance, and just don't have the emotional connection to the characters that you have. Other than that, it's really good, and I acknowledge your skill! You must really like these two to put such effort into a single piece of art! 
I need to get an emulator so I can play the FE's I've missed... this series slipped me by until early last year, when I got The Sacred Stones through the 3DS Ambassador program. School keeps me busy, so I'll have to seize what moments I can to play my dear strategy games.

yeah I'm a big fan of Edward and Leonardo...they're among my favorites from all FE series and they're very special to me...
and actually, they are a bit underappreciated. but I've always had a subtle taste in FE and certain characters appeal to me.
I'm also glad you noticed all the feelings and effort I put in this art piece. if you had played FE10, maybe you'd understand the deeper meaning of Ed and Leo fighting...I mean, Ed and Leo are such an inseparable duo.
hm which FE games did you play by the way ? you're missing a great game...FE9 and FE10.

Actually, I'm kind of behind in the FE fandom. I've... only played Sacred Stones and Awakening so far, but I've read up on the stories of the other games (some of it). I'm going to get a translated patch for the sixth game, as well as for Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776. Unless I find discs for PoR and RD, they'll get emulated too... dang, I've had a Gamecube for over seven years, it was my main console, yet somehow I missed PoR? Oh, well, that can be remedied!
Oops, almost forgot FE 7... I need that one too!
You're publishing next year? That seems only fair. If you want art in any form done to your liking, take your time. I may not be the most talented when drawing, but my writing is only ever submitted when I feel it has done some justice to the characters portrayed. Also, that Avatar pic you linked is pretty cool. I think he'd fit well in a comic!

hm this is wonderful ! I'm glad to hear you have interest in the older games, because in my opinion, they're absolutely the best from the whole FE series. FE 1 / 3 / BS together with the remakes are my favorites, followed by FE4 and 5. those games are perfection...

no, your not alone, milady. I'm also glad to know I wasn't the only one. I wanted both of them on my team as soon as possible and I thought how deep it would be to make them fight...I sound cruel but...it's a bit difficult to explain this kind of feeling, right ?
also, this is silly but I liked how they look in their battle models during this process, because Leonardo is from our side and is wearing blue while Edward is still an enemy wearing red, just like their usual colors.
