I know! Been wanting a tongue flick photo of the king for ages and was thrilled it got it this time around.
Gaboons are my favorites of the venomous snakes.

I love this snake, it's amazing how snakes eye change blue before they shed, but they are beautiful when they do have the blue eyes.

Lol, only temporarily! Snakes "go into blue" prior to shedding. Their eyecaps will turn milky white or blue, and their vision is temporarily handicapped. They tend to be fairly aggressive during this time.

He's been one of the more docile snakes I've seen at the zoo. He's huge...close to the 18 foot mark, so I don't think he's very intimidated by humans.

Ah. I'm surprised, given venomous snakes do tend to be aggressive due to less human interaction with them.
