Description My first completed work on Photoshop. Inspired (of course) by the movie Alien VS Predator and a certain fact that not many people like Archie. Because I practically became a fan thanx to Archie's I like it, although I have to admit that they've been disapointing me lately. SatAM had a bigger influence in me for this drawing. The Robotnik from it was evil and at the same time sophisticated. And there's the original from Sega which everyone loves an adores for various reasons. I decided to make a VS betwin what I think are the best two characters of both versions. There might be some slight clues of who might win this all for all. Those who've seen the AVP movie might get it faster....the rest of you...just guess.

Because I'm literaly falling asleep I might add some more details of this later.
Enjoy.

Satam Robotnik is more evil and darker and has actually took over Mobius. The game's Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is mostly focused more on comedy than evil and he has only taken over their fantasy Earth or some of the land for a few hours till Sonic stops him.

So SatAM Robotnik stomps.

I guess. But I have to say SEGA Robotnik has to be smarter and less lazier. He actually builds his weapons and armies while SatAM Robotnik just stole the roboticizer, and he never even leaves his headquarters.

Hello? Did you even watch the show?

Yeah I did. Robotnik is not all that great.

You don't like him. Lemme guess, you prefer his appearance in Sonic X and Sonic Unleashed?

In those, he's like a Doofenshmirtz ripoff.

classicsonicawesome In reply to MarkWilder [2012-11-08 00:47:40 +0000 UTC]

Sonic X? Ewwww! Sonic Unleashed isn't good either because he wasn't even the final boss. SatAM Robotnik is just a lazy evil dictator. He never really gets out there and face Sonic like his SEGA counterpart does. It would be cool if he invented the roboticizer, but he didn't, he just stole it. This is why I don't like him very much. However, everyone has an opinion, this is mine.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MarkWilder In reply to classicsonicawesome [2012-11-08 01:18:13 +0000 UTC]

Yes he does get out and face Sonic. He's just smart enough to not do it with a drill on a slow-moving car. As for inventions, he invented the Sky Spy, Sonic Radar, Hedgehog Seeking Missiles, Homing Laser Cannon, and numerous others.

SatAM Robotnik usually sticks to militaristic inventions.

I stand corrected, but I still prefer SEGA Robotnik.

MarkWilder In reply to classicsonicawesome [2012-11-08 20:35:43 +0000 UTC]

I understand. Like what you like.

I just don't stand silent when people go claiming random stuff about characters they don't really know anything about. I get that a LOT because I watch certain shows and read certain comic books. Some person tried to tell me that I was lying when I told him the Enterprise-D (A "Galaxy Class" spaceship from Star Trek) wasn't a lightly-armed scout ship.

[link]

First paragraph: "The Galaxy-class was a Starfleet vessel first introduced in the late 2350s. It was one of the largest and most powerful Federation starship classes of its time, with many serving in the Dominion War." In short, it's a FUCKING BATTLESHIP.

Or Superman. Some guy told me he wasn't powerful enough to hurt a planet, or fast enough to pass light-speed, let alone dodge a regular punch.

[link]

He was totally wrong.

You can prefer what you like: but please don't talk about what you don't know.

Alright, but when I really said he didn't invent all those military machines you invented, I only meant the roboticizer. I mean, SEGA Robotnik could build his army of robots as well. Oh, and who the hell said Superman wasn't fast enough to dodge a fucking punch!?!?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MarkWilder In reply to classicsonicawesome [2012-11-09 00:27:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, SEGA Robotnik builds military robots, and fleets of warships that always get quickly eradicated somehow, and just as quickly replaced. SatAM Robotnik was always more army-like, so he has bombers and better shock-troops, but no battle fleet at all, and it takes longer for him to replace stuff.

I forget exactly who said that about Superman. It was some Dragonball Z fan I met on Youtube. Epic Fail for him. You think that would at least do *light* research.

classicsonicawesome In reply to MarkWilder [2012-11-09 03:39:39 +0000 UTC]

Yup, both have different styles and designs for weapons and robots.

Wow, what an idiot. Who would get their facts wrong on Superman?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MarkWilder In reply to classicsonicawesome [2012-11-09 18:16:14 +0000 UTC]

A Dragonball z fan. They like the idea of Goku killing Superman in a fight. It isn't possible, so they bitch about it. Goku doesn't live very long in space, he takes 2 whole days to build enough power to destroy a planet, and he dies from far less than his output. It takes 2 planets smashing Superman between them to knock him out, so Goku's biggest (and possibly suicidal) hit could hurt Superman. Just one shot of Superman's heat vision would kill Goku instantly.

Star Wars fans are like that about Star Trek. They want a Star Destroyer to destroy the Enterprise: but it cannot work. Enterprise kills entire squadrons of fighters in seconds with it's weapon arrays, and obliterates larger ships, asteroids, and whole planetary continents with less than three shots each with torpedoes. *And* it has a maximum firing rate from hell itself.

Wow, that's just the Dragonball Z fan in them talking in denial.

I'm a Star Wars fan but if this is true than I can believe the Enterprise can destroy a Star Destroyer.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MarkWilder In reply to classicsonicawesome [2012-11-09 22:29:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. You would need 20 Goku to make Superman more than just annoyed.

I'm a fan of Star Wars as well, (especially the Original Trilogy) I just don't ignore the obvious to push for favorites. The Culture (by Ian M. Banks) could kill the Enterprise from a light-year away in one shot with their smallest gun.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MarkWilder In reply to classicsonicawesome [2012-11-10 06:54:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Most television sci-fi ships don't even try to approach that kind of firepower, but there are plenty more powerful ships in the books for some reason.

MaRaMa-Artz In reply to nintendobros64 [2011-09-13 04:50:30 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't say "more brains" as he does some very stupid things and it always making the same stupid mistakes. And SatAM -Robotnik- (as it's his American name) actually did take over the whole planet and slaved most of it. Eggman just like putting up a show with lots of bots and pretty effects. He IS inventive, but SEGA's damned him to be mostly comic relief now. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 had him at his best. After that, well... :/

classicsonicawesome In reply to MaRaMa-Artz [2012-05-08 03:17:03 +0000 UTC]

yeah, but didn't Archie/SatAM's Robotnik foolishly let Sonic live in issue #230?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MaRaMa-Artz In reply to classicsonicawesome [2012-05-08 15:20:06 +0000 UTC]

Archie murdered Dr. Julian Robotnik(The original SatAM Robotnik) in issue #50 and replaced him with Japan's Eggman in issue #75. From that issue on it's Dr. Eggman in those comics because they didn't give a damn about the SatAM fans and wanted to make more money.

#108 was another the final slap to the old fans because they made Julian act like a complete idiot and humiliated him to no end before making it final that he would NEVER come back, so I rather think that comic either does not exist or it was not him and just some other version of another similar universe.

I can't remember what was the last issue I actually bought but I didn't reach the 200 and I've lost interest in reading them since around #223. I still know where to read them online if I ever feel like catching up but no way I'm giving them any more money.

SatAM Robotnik now only exist in Archie's pre-50 issues and in the original SatAM DVD boxset. Everything else is Eggman.

I have got to tell you something. Um, the one on the right is the American Robotnik and the one on the Right is the Japan Eggman. So its more like AVJ on this.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MaRaMa-Artz In reply to LegendySonicFan [2010-06-12 22:33:23 +0000 UTC]

America has more than one Robotnik so I wanted to be more specific saying comic VS game instead of country of origin.

Plus, the S was easier to do than the J.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

classicsonicawesome In reply to MaRaMa-Artz [2012-05-08 03:19:05 +0000 UTC]

People have stopped calling them by country origins ever since the 90s were coming to an end. At the time of Sonic Adventure, the games stopped being localized and they all followed the Japanese canon. So now the so-called "Japanese Sonic" is considered "SEGA Sonic" now that he is for the world instead of just one country. So now we seperate them from the media instead of countries.

Fantastic stuff - Very original, and well drawn!

The clue? Is it the last line... "and Ivo will rule"? Just in Archie and SatAM he was called Julian. Either that's the clue or a mistake - if it's a mistake, sorry if I've ruined your pic! Superb pic, and definitely a fav!

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MaRaMa-Artz In reply to dimitridimitri [2004-08-30 22:18:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes you're right about him being called Julian, but that's his real name which he hates a lot. He proudly calls himself Dr. Ivo Robonikjust like Eggman does. So they're both Ivo...even if one it's self proclaimed.
The clue should be eighter in the position they're drawn and the character they took the place from in the original AVP wallpaper. Anyway, I'm not going for anyone in specific 'cuz I think each is special and important to both Sonic-verses it's own way.

Interesting! I've not seen AVP, but now I know your SatAM knowledge surpasses mine, lol! I always preferred "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" myself, and being british I've never read the Archie comics. It would be good to find some though, just out of interest! So a round of applause for your SatAM and Archie knowledge!

WOW. AWESOME SHADING. Very very awesome. I love how you took the time to even shade the teeth to an astounding level of detail. The shine on Sega-Ivo's glasses looks great, and the flare in Archie-Ivo's eyes was done extremely well, particularly at the iris.

The mustaches are done AWESOMELY... I've never actually seen them done quite like that, they look very realistic! How long did it take you to pull off that fluffy look? XD

My only complaint about this pic would be that Sega-Ivo's bottom lip ... chin... whatever, seems like it's unusually thick at the end. But Sega-Ivo is friggin' hard to draw in a profile anyway, so I really don't put you at fault for it.

Good job paying attention to the difference in the way their teeth are drawn. XD
