And yes! They are called Tabi Boots. Look them up on eBay, and specifically look for the Rikio brand, they're the best.

I had recognized Tabi boots in them, I was amazed by the fact the toes can almost be seen through the fabric, it's great. I got Tabi boots as well from a friend who had the chance to travel to Japan but I don't remember the fabric having this effect... after it's been years since the last time I could wear them as I didn't bring them with me when I moved but they're great to wear for sure.

Well, these are leather Tabi boots, instead of the cotton twill or canvas that they're usually made of. So they've worn in and become more flexable where it's needed.

oh, I see then! leather sounds really good, I'll have to look up for some someday, I love how it feels to walk with those sorta shoes, it's almost like being barefooted - and I love to walk barefooted when streets ain't too dirty/cold/hot/else
