I've been wanting to make suspenders to wear with my pants for a long while. I made these fav.me/d7gz7u4 for my highwaisted pants. If you'll notice however, those aren't adjustable and will only fit high waisted pants of that same size.
In early March '14 I had an inguinal hernia repair and since then I haven't worn a belt due to discomfort. This is what finally motivated me to making some proper suspenders. While I was recovering at home the first couple weeks I worked on making these Suspenders and now have 3 pairs of pants converted to support these.

One issue I faced was having a fastening point on the pants that was stable, sturdy and didn't interfere with also wearing a belt should I choose to. I could put buttons directly on the pants, but it would have to be at the waistband and a belt would push on the button. One idea I had was wearing a belt with buttons, using the belt loops to hold up the pants and the suspenders to hold up the belt... it was all rather a bit much. The solution as you can see is wearing a thin but stable button belt on the inside that merely supports the buttons. It's not bulky and is very much secure and it's also removable.
