Your resourcefulness at problem-solving the belt-on-Monday-suspenders-on-Tuesday issue is inspiring. Keep it up!

Aye, and I've worn a belt with the pants since and by now I'm more used to the suspenders and find them more comfortable.

They look great. Might borrow some of your ideas for my first pair. I just got my first high-waisted trousers for part of a Steampunk costume and they have button braces. Much more comfortable than belts, thinking of converting more pairs to use em

Been wearing belts all my life, so it took a week or two of constantly wearing suspenders before I could do it without exhausting my back, because it's like wearing a backpack all day... and my pants aren't very light weight either.

Very nice. I found some braided leather suspenders with brass hardware, made by a company in Texas that is no longer in business, but I like these much better.

Aye, I spent a lot of time on google looking at suspenders for ideas and this is a combination of some of the best I could see.

I'm a big fan of the high waisted M1951 Wool Trousers as well as the British Battle Dress Trousers, but I hate having a belt cinched that high, so I opted for suspenders.Β I ended up with a pair of all elastic M1951 suspenders and a pair of German border patrol leather suspenders.Β The M1951 are pretty much a giant bra strap/shoulder holster arrangement with hooks that catch cord loops on the inside of the pants.Β The border patrol suspenders on the other had have hooks that I hooks to suspender loops in the front inside of the pants and to my belt in the rear.Β I'm pretty sure that I could hook the front on my belt too.
