I was originally motivated to make my Genes/Jacks Hybrid hybrid because of this project. The grey and green ones I posted earlier were essentially a prototype with this being the final result. Commissioned by CraftedSteampunk , he wanted a pair of pants like the SteepleJacks that are baggy and have a cuff. BUT not as baggy as the Jacks and with more pockets. So I decided to get to work on an idea I've been mulling over in my head to create a combination between the two styles and this is the final result. Unfortunately, it's not fitting me like it should because it was made to his measurements, so I'm doing my best to make it look good in the images. It does make me want a pair of my own made in denim
This fabric is super heavy duty denim and making these was quite exhausting. Especially sewing the side seams and putting the pockets on the outside. The cargo pockets work great with the design but they were a pain to sew on and I don't know if I'd do it again...
100% Cotton Denim (black warp yarns with white weft yarns underneath) solid brass hardware.

pfff can't remember now. These are Cole Haan, with a zipper around the welt. Didn't pay that price for 'em, maybe only 100 or so back then (2012ish)

Aye, those old machines were quite sturdy, however, I stress that they're still home machines and nothing like Industrial machines

Not particularly, it's a heavy denim just like what jeans are made of, only black. I imagine they'd probably be a bit warm to wear on a hot summer day.
