Description
Hello for the first time in a long time.Β I've decided to dabble in a little parody based on Alice in Wonderland, but with Lillie from Pokemon in the lead role.Β I plan on going through the whole story eventually, staying relatively faithful to the original while throwing in a few spins of my own.Β Without further ado, let's get started.

Chapter 1: Down the Scorbunny Hole
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a bright and sunny summer day in the Galar region. The town of Wedgehurst in the southern half was a quaint, quiet place to get away to. The landscape was dotted with farms, village houses, and other such places of residence.
Lillie and her family were here for both travel and business. Her father was colleagues with the region's Pokemon Professor, Magnolia, whose research lab was in town. She and her assistant, Sonia, had been in the middle of a project that Lillie's father was quite interested in. They agreed to have him help in their current endeavors while they were here.
On the third day of their visit, Lillie's mother had gone into town to do some shopping on her own. This left Lillie, her brother Gladion, and her Alolan Vulpix β affectionately nicknamed Snowy β to their own devices for the afternoon. The siblings explored the town for a time, then went to relax in one of the nearby fields for a while, sitting under the shade of a Cherri tree by a small brook.
Lillie sighed, looking out to a distant farmer tending their flock of Wooloo. Her Vulpix was napping in her lap, and she softly stroked her cool white fur.
βI wonder how Father's making out,β she commented. βHe said this research was very important.β
Her brother said nothing, focusing more on the Pokedex he had borrowed from Professor Magnolia.
βYou think it has something to do with Nihilego, or any of the other Ultra Beasts?β Lillie continued. βI remember the Professor saying they were looking into the strange happenings that's gone on in recent years.β
βMaybe,β Gladion finally replied. βBut it doesn't really matter to me. The sooner this gets done, the sooner we can get out of here. We've been here three days already, and I'm starting to get bored.β
βOh, don't say that,β Lillie scolded. βI kinda like having it be nice and quiet for a change.β
Gladion shrugged, leaning back against the trunk of the tree. βWhatever. You do you...β
Lillie sighed as she continued to stroke her Vulpix. The warm sun, the fresh breeze blowing through her hair, and the gentle sounds of the nearby babbling brook were making her feel drowsy. She started to nod off, but she quickly shook herself awake.
Suddenly, she heard rustling from a large clump of bushes close by. Looking over, she saw a Pokemon emerge from it. It was a Scorbunny, but unlike any she had ever seen in her studies. Its fur was mostly white, with red markings on the tips of its ears and lower paws. What was weird was the fact it was wearing a red waistcoat, and was looking around in a very timid manner.
βWhat?β Lillie said to herself. βThat's strange...β
The Scorbunny reached into its waistcoat, pulling out a small pocket watch, checking the time.
βOh dear!β It exclaimed in the native Galarian accent. βI'm going to be late!β With that, it ran off in the direction of the nearby woods.
βIt...talked?β Lillie exclaimed. She turned to her brother. βHey, did you see what I saw?β
βWhat are you talking about?β Gladion replied. βI didn't see anything.β
βThat's because you weren't paying attention!β Lillie said. βThere was a Scorbunny out there, wearing clothes, with a watch!β
βSo?β Gladion asked. βYou can find those things around here, after all. It's gotta belong to someone.β
βI don't think so,β Lillie said, picking up the still sleeping Vulpix and gently setting her down. βI don't see or hear any other trainers around. It was in a hurry, but I think it might be lost.β
βOr it might be wild and happened to steal someone's outfit for itself,β Gladion commented. βWhat are you gonna do about it?β
βI'm gonna go and see if there's something wrong with it,β Lillie replied, standing up.
Her brother sighed. βFine, but be careful. Mother will be back soon, so hurry up.β
βDon't worry, this shouldn't take long,β Lillie said with a nod, and she ran in the direction she saw the Scorbunny take off in.
She went into the woods, her head on a swivel to try and locate the mysterious Pokemon. She followed a worn path that led deeper and deeper inside.
βWhere did it go?β She asked.
βI'm late! I'm late!β She heard a voice call out ahead of her.
Rushing over a small hill, she looked over and saw the Scorbunny running in the direction of an oak tree, with a large burrow dug out underneath it. The Pokemon darted inside, disappearing from view.
Lillie approached the tree and knelt down, looking inside. The entrance to the burrow itself was large enough for someone her size to crawl into. Determined to do what she could to help, she slowly made her way in.
As she crawled deeper, less and less light made its way in. She soon had to stop herself, as the floor of the burrow dropped sharply. She leaned over in an attempt to get a better view of what was below.
As she did so, the edge of dirt floor she was supporting herself on suddenly gave way.
In an instant, Lillie found herself falling headfirst down the hole, screaming all the while. Her hat flew off her head, and it disappeared above her as she reached out in vain to try and catch it. She was suddenly engulfed by a bright light, which blinded her.
When the light faded and her vision returned to normal, Lillie shifted her body weight in an attempt to right herself. As she did so, she heard the sudden flapping of fabric, and her fall rate drastically decreased. She breathed a sigh of relief, although she was still concerned about her current situation.
As she descended, it grew darker and darker. Before it became pitch-black, she noticed what appeared to be a the silhouette of a standing lamp. She managed to reach out and flick the switch, and it suddenly became much brighter. Now being able to see again, she looked down at herself and gasped.
βWhat...what is this?β She asked aloud, realizing her clothes had changed. Gone was her usual cream-white ensemble. In its place was a knee-high blue dress with puffy short sleeves and a frilled white apron, the latter of which was currently flapping upward. A black bow had taken her hat's place on her head. Her legs were now covered with white pantyhose, while a pair of black Mary Janes replaced her regular shoes. It turned out her new dress had opened up and spread out like a parachute, which had slowed her descent.
βWell, after this I'll think nothing of falling down stairs,β she commented, adjusting the apron back down so it was flush with her dress.
Soon, various objects came into view around and below her. They included grandfather clocks, fish bowls, teapots and teacups, and even several mirrors, which allowed her a better view of her new outfit.
Lillie then considered where exactly she was. βThis hole must be massive. I wonder if there are any other Pokemon down here. I'm surprised I haven't seen any Zubat or Woobat acting up from all this bright light. If only Snowy followed me here...then maybe I'd more easily protect myself if there are any around...β
Deeper down, she saw shelving lining the walls of the hole, filled with dusty books, paraphernalia, and dinnerware. She reached out to take one of the books and see what was inside. She couldn't make heads or tails of what was written on the pages, and there weren't any pictures to help tell what the book was about. She sighed, finding another bookshelf to put it on.
She floated past chairs, coat racks, tables, and open cupboards of varying sizes. In one of these was a set of mason jars, and she grabbed one while she had the chance. The label read 'Oran Marmalade,' which happened to be a favorite of hers. Upon opening the lid, she saw it was empty inside. Disappointed, she placed it on another nearby shelf she floated past, not wanting it to fall and hurt anything down below
The further along she went, the more she began to worry. βHow far have I fallen so far?β She asked. βAnd how much longer shall this go on? Where exactly will I end up? I hope I make it back somehow. Mother and Father will start to worry if I'm gone too long. And what would Snowy do without me?β
Before she could ask herself any more questions, she began to fall faster, causing her to call out again. She then landed in a large pile of leaves and plant matter, which cushioned her fall and prevented possible injury. As she rose back to her feet and brushed herself off, she could see the strange Scorbunny hopping along ahead of her, still muttering βI'm late!β to itself.
βI don't know what it's doing down here,β she said, βbut I feel like I have to catch it if I'm ever to get out of here.β With this in mind, she resumed her pursuit of the Pokemon.
The chase went down a long narrow hallway lit by many lamps lining the walls. It eventually reached a sharp bend, which the Scorbunny took in a sliding turn. Lillie tried to do the same, but she lost her balance on the slippery floor and nearly fell. This gave the Pokemon more than enough time to get out of sight again. Undeterred, Lillie continued on, following the second hallway until it opened into another new area..
βNow where am I?β Lillie asked aloud as she looked around. She was in a dark circular room with a high ceiling. The walls were lined with doors made of different woods, each with unique knobs and locks. The floor was made of shiny tile in a black and white checkered pattern, appearing to have been polished recently.
When she checked behind herself, she saw the hallway she had just come down was gone, replaced by yet another door. She tried opening it, but it wouldn't budge.
βLocked,β Lillie said, moving to the door to the right of it. When it too wouldn't open, she proceeded to try all of the other doors in the room. To her dismay, every single one was locked. She banged on the last door once in her frustration, and she began to worry that she was stuck.
Turning around, she was surprised to find a clear glass table was now in the middle of the room.
βHuh? Where did that come from?β Lillie asked, walking up to it.
She noticed a small brass key was on the table, and she picked it up. She hoped to herself that this would unlock one of the doors in the room.
Lillie went to each door to experiment. Each attempt resulted in one of three results β either the lock was misshaped, the key was too small, or if it did fit, it wouldn't turn all the way.
βWell that was a waste,β she moaned after trying the last lock. βWhat kind of door does this silly key go to, anyway?β
Lillie sighed as she looked around again. She then noticed a large green curtain on the opposite end of the room. Intrigued, she walked over and pulled it back. Behind it was a small blue door, no higher than six inches.
βYou gotta be kidding me,β Lillie commented as she knelt down beside it. With nothing to lose, she tried the key in the lock. Not only did it fit, it turned all the way, unlocking the door.
Lillie laughed in her amazement as she opened it, and she was greeted by sunlight shining through. She got down on all fours so she could take a peek at what was outside. It was a lovely garden, complete with an ornate marble fountain with flowing water. She could hear bird Pokemon singing, and could smell all sorts of flowers.
βIt's beautiful,β she said as she returned to her feet. βA shame I can't get out there to enjoy it...β
Lillie turned around, and she was surprised yet again. Something new was on the table.
βThis keeps getting weirder by the minute,β she said, bewildered. She walked back over to see the mysterious object. It was a bottle made from what looked like smoked glass. A paper label was tied to the top of its neck with twine.
Lillie put the key on the table and picked up the bottle to examine it. She could hear there was liquid inside, but she wasn't sure what kind. She turned the label over and saw something written on it.
βDrink me,β she read aloud. She checked all over to see if there was any more writing or other indications of what it could be, but she found none.
Lillie pulled off the stopper and took a quick sniff of the contents. She couldn't detect any scents emanating from within, but this still didn't rule out the possibility of it being dangerous.
Nevertheless, she put the bottle to her lips to take a small taste. She couldn't quite make out what the exact flavor was, as it seemed to change every few seconds as she swirled it in her mouth. One thing was for certain, though...
βThis is...delicious,β she said after swallowing the sample. She quickly downed the remainder of the bottle's contents, happy to have finally had something to quench her thirst.
As Lillie replaced the stopper, she felt a sudden cold tingling sensation running down her spine, causing her to drop the bottle. She shivered, closing her eyes and wrapping her arms around herself, while her insides groaned their dissatisfaction.
βWhat's...happening to me?β She stammered. Opening her eyes again, she was shocked to see the table in front of her slowly expanding and rising up.
βW-what's going on? Why is everything getting bigger?β
Lillie looked down, noticing that the checkered floor was also expanding all around her. She gasped when she realized what was actually happening.
βNo...I'm the one who's getting smaller!β
She continued to shrink little by little, and she became more and more frightened as a result. Within a matter of moments, she was no more than three inches high.
βOh dear...β Lillie exclaimed, trying to regain her bearings. βThis is like Faba's shrink ray experiment all over again...β
She noticed the bottle on the floor, which now dwarfed her in height. Somehow, it did it not shatter.. Turning around, she put her hands to her hips and looked to the ceiling, wondering if she would shrink any further. After waiting a minute or two without further change, she decided that this was as small as she would get.
She tried to assess her predicament as best she could. βOn one hand...this isn't good, but...on the other hand, I'm able to make it through that door now...β
Lillie looked over to the tiny door, and her eyes widened in shock, seeing it had closed shut on its own. She rushed over to try and open it, but she discovered it was locked again. She instinctively reached into one of her apron's pockets for the key, but then she remembered where she had left it...
...back on the table.
βNo!β She cried out, running back to said table. She could see the key through the clear base, and she felt like it was taunting her. In her panic, she tried climbing up one of the legs in an attempt to reach the top. Unfortunately, the glass was too slippery, and she soon slid back down to the floor.
βStupid, stupid, STUPID!β She yelled, tearing up. βWhat was I thinking? I never should have had whatever was in that stupid bottle! I can't go anywhere like this! What will I do now?!β
She began to weep, unsure of what was to become of her...
