Very cool work! What software do you use? This looks a lot the modeling was done in z-brush? Am I right? Really good work, especially with the expression.

Software? I used my own personal internal software. This is sculpted in super sculpey. traditional sculpture not digital. No computers where used.

I, on the other hand, have not done real sculpture for a long time. For a time, my father was a sculptor. He worked in marble and limestone mostly. One day I will do it again. For now I content myself with sculpting on the computer using free software:

If I may ask, what techniques do you use for your skin textures? My work always comes out too smooth or too heavy-handed and leathery-looking.

Do you have a particular secret to share for how you create the incredible face detail or is it as the guy below says just skill and patience.

The hair strands and wrinkles tell me you have both barrels of skill and barrels of patience to spare. Goddamn, that's some fine detail!

Wow, he looks pissed. Then again, it's Gollum, so that's to be expected. Fantastic work on both sculptures' facial expressions. You really brought out the stark contrast in his personalities!
