But instead of just the bone, there's skin over it
and thus scales

Yeah it's so not sames X33 Sometimes the colors are off
cause I printed one of my character's reference sheets just incase I lose
them on here the colors were like super dark X33

like a giant sun with giant flames behind derpy the dragon
which is ur blue dragon X33
Sorry to spoil it X33 I just wanted your blue dragon against a
reddish and orangish colors X33 Like a fire and ice look except he's
not an ice dragon I think XDD

Errrrrm... why are there scales on the horns? I've never considered that option before and I'm curious why this dragon has them.

what id they aren't horns?
like, there's bone in them, sure
but there's still skin on that bone
and on that skin scales
i suck at doing this kind of thing when i'm sick, hahaha....

Hmmm.... what if they grew like antlers on deer, but for a much longer period of time.
Maybe it's like a sign of adolescence. How the horn grows while they grow up determines what they'll have for the rest of their life. Hmm... That'd work great on "short" lived dragon species. Say a couple decades. But it would have to be a long cycle if they grew in cycles for mating rituals. Talk about a long mating cycle. Good grief!

though i guess this could make an interesting species of dragons
with tissue on their horns, including scales
and like, some have small scales and othr broad scales
sharp scales, smooth scales, round scales....
so many variations
that would be a long mating cycle, hahah XD
and i doubt this girl would like a short life

I'm going to have to do some thinking about it and see if I can come up with a species of dragon that grow and shed their horns in regular cycles. That's just too cool to pass up. Maybe my world's gargoyles do that. That would be neat. Or maybe just my little swamp gargoyles do. Hmm.... this will certainly take some pondering.
Leaving the flesh on the horns also seems like a really cool idea. I'll have to toy with that, too. Maybe that type of horn can be found on ancient/ancestral versions of dragons.
