Description Mechdesign - Sketchup / Photoshop
Check the [link] for a short testvid with a modified version.

Commission for Erik Murillo, who'll be using this design for a script-pitch. The design's loosely based on sketches by Mavartworx [link] Here's some background info, as provided by Erik:

______________

The project is for a mech that is to be used by a multi-mission oriented rescue team. The KMP (Kinetic Maneuvering Platform/Puppet) is a powered armor that can be used for military, rescue, and medical extrication purposes.

The people who use this mech are known as SARCOMTECH (Search and Rescue Commando Technician) who are in theory a mix of navy seals, SAS, firefighters, and EMT's as far as skills and training. They are suspended in stasis sleep aboard a spaceship (sarcomtech battalion carrier) that orbits predetermined paths across several planets and space.

When an emergency occurs such as a fire aboard a ship, a riot in a colony where the local forces can not contain, or a medical evacuation, SARCOMTECH is awakened and immediately mobilized for the mission. The design of the mech allows for multiple configurations and adaptations depending on the mission at hand. It can be launched from a carrier-style deck, it can be deployed by an atmosphere protecting "ballute" system- ( [link] )

The ballute allows for aerobreaking and penetration of atmosphere to deliver its package. The mech is also delivered by dropship where a "six pack" of mechs can be dropped off.

Well Marrekie,
Its waaaaaaAAAAaaaaay long over due to put this drawing up, but here is the "Drop Ship" for the Sarcomtech Mechs.
Drawing some of Erik's vehicles from his script was a way to get me out of the drawing "funk" I was in, in 2013/14.
Hope you and your fans enjOyΒ

Great linework man and interesting scale. I was thinking about Erik's project just the other day. Too bad it didn't work out.

Thanks!
Yeah I have a few more ideas to draw, and 3 sleek "Female" mech/powersuits that I created before the dropship, but they are rather large drawings and I need to find a large scanner. It be a headache to piece them together from my small scanΒ .
Hope you are doing well.

If it a general purpose mech then how deep underwater could it go, weapons capabilities and could it have a backpack like the VOTOMS space adaptation package, basiclly a bigger version of nasa MMU, and wheels or tank treads on the bottom of the feet for faster travell?

Very nice set up! How do you set your drawing like that? Is it an actual 3d model of the unit or whats your technique on presenting your images?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Marrekie In reply to Peterkat [2010-04-05 11:27:47 +0000 UTC]

You're right, it's a render of an actual 3D model.

Peterkat In reply to Marrekie [2010-04-08 20:51:33 +0000 UTC]

Thats really cool! Ive done 3d max myself, but not like the way you present the model in that form. Very cool job!

Neat backstory and design. The coloring to me implies just military and doesn't convey any sort or rescue / medical functionality. A lot of times in a rescue situation you want high visibility on your equipment.

Hi Chris,

Actually, the various versions that "Erik" my "Boss" speaks of are just that
Each use of the Mech have certain Colours and Characteristics of what they are
used for, as THIS one is the Millitary Mech, that can also be fitted with Weapons
Pods, "Slave" Defense Weapons and other gear.
Hopefully in the coming weeks, our Partner and myself will reveal the different
Colour Schemes for each Mech and possibly its various Parts.

Marrekie was assigned just to do the Millitary Version for now, this is a very
"Basic" Mech, as we may improve upon it with Marks help down the road.
We also have more "Exotic" Mech planned within the Year.
Which I'll put up Designs and Sketches on my Page. You can see a "Prototype
Phase I" for the Wilder Design in my Gallery (The "North" Mech).

You'll definately see some more collaborations with Marrekie's awesome skills!

Glad you like it and thanks for the feedback. You should realize though, that CSAR missions often use hardware in camo-colors.

Marrekie,

Such an EXCELLENT job you did for our "little" project.
We just had a meeting and just GUSHED about it.
We are looking into building a Maquette of it within a Diorama soon for the Presentation in May.

I hope to put up my Sketches for this in a few days.
We all hope to work with you VERY soon! Thanks
Bravo!
