Description
My entry for the latest project of the #GuildOfArt [link]the topic was mythology. we should take a scene, character or creature out of a self chosen myth or sage and create a piece of art about it.
i've chosen a myth of the norse mythologie, its a scene from the battle of ragnarok.
During ragnarok the deathly fenrir will face the god vidar. Vidar will kill Fenrir and avange the death of his father odin by ripping his jaws apart and ramming his sword into his throat.
Vidar is one of the gods who survife ragnarok.

i mostly used the standard brushes of photoshop with slight changes on them and a few customs brushes.

I will add that linguistics and etymology (with the help of the Norron Ordbok) suggests the rebirth of the other gods.
The version of Voluspa I read (Benjamin Thorpe version) is cryptic about if any god truly dies during Ragnorak and it suggests that other gods besides ones named survive and the return of others.
Plus, there is the question of "where does a god's spirit go if a god dies?"

Oh and I also mention this because Ragnorak tends to come across as not only a foretelling of destruction but also a foretelling of rebirth since rebirth follows death which applies for all honorable living things both human and god.

I thought that none of the gods survive Ragnarok in the older Eddas, Surt burns everything in the nine worlds because Freyr traded the only weapon that could defeat Surt in return for GerΓ°r.
I could be wrong of course, the stories have so many retellings that the original is probably lost to time at this point.

danke dir ^^ auch wenn die farben im browser viel zu knallig rauskommen. in der arbeitsdatei ists etwas gedeckter. schau grad nach warum das so krass is oΓ΄. verstehs net ganz. muss aber vermutlich am arbeitsfarbraum in ps liegen oΓ΄.. straaaaange

danke ^^ bei den wlken wollte ich grob bleiben. eben gemalt. ^^ bis auf die farben mag ichs. also mir passt nit das die farben so knallen. lag aber daran, das ich nach dem kalibireren das farbprofil in der ps darstellun gnit angepasst hab. leider oΓ΄. naja. eim nΓ€chsten stimmts dann gleich so wie ich will xD
