Description I'd rather not sound like a complete hypocrite, so let me explain. I know I've been on a bit of an anti-Loonatic when the show first came out. I wasn't too impressed with the first few episodes. The later episodes showed more potential, I thought, so I'm willing to give the show another chance this next season. It's kinda grown on me. Though Duck Dodgers is stilll (and probably always will be) the best LT spin off in my book.

I talked with a lot of people who both love and detest the show, but I've noticed that people on both sides have agreed that the show could use some good recurring LT-based arch villains instead of these weak rogues of the week that just keep appearing. This concept actually started off as a joke in my mind and in a comic, but after considering the gallery the Loonatics have gone up against so far, they were reworked into something more serious (wow, I think these are actually my first true fan characters). I think WB could use an idea like this. Just so long as they don't screw it up.
Here's a brief rundown of these kids.

Tyrannus and Marvella are Tyr'ahnee's and X-2's (aka Marv's) son and daughter, in case you couldn't guess. Hey, Dodgers couln't live forever and you really expect the Queen of Mars to remain a spinster for her remaining centuries? I won't give away the story behind the kids just yet (I'm working on a fic), but no they weren't given the powers by a meteor. Tyrannus is a bit arrogant and slighly immature since he's the youngest. Marvella the are more competant and serious one. Both are around 370 Earth years old (but they're still teens/young adults as far as Martians go). Ty can spontanously create and manipulate fire and is immune to it's harmful effects. Marvella can create illusions so realistic, they actually feel real (the mind is a very complex thing.). I think she's in the process of warping space in this pic.
The wolfish looking dog (I have no idea what kind of breed he's supposed to be) is Tyrannus's. Don't be put off by his growling, snapping fangs. He really is a sweetheart (at least that's what Ty says). Canus was almost fatally killed in a training accident (stepped on a landmine or something) and then was used as another test subject for Mars' cyborgantic technology (yeah, they were still working on it after all this time). But this time, they'd actually succeeded.
For the purists out there, please don't beat me up too much. The originals are always going to be #1.

I actually like the idea, though Duck Dodgers was always a bit on the ludicrous side for me.

Kewl. Yeah, Loonatics should at least have some recurring arch-enemies, like Martians or a futuristic Yosemite Sam or something.....

Ah well, one doesn't need to look any further than my signature to see what I think of Loonatics! >.<

I love this even if the show happens to be crap. Your ideas are great. ^^

O_O Dude, get out of my head!! I was thinking of something exactly like this earlier this morning (while earting toast & listening to "Back in the Day for the billionth time). I even did the math as to how old the kids would be, taking in account the time between the 24th and 27th centuries and everything. Honestly, the only major difference between my idea and yours is the difference in names, the dig--type thing was more jackal-like and a robot (though I like your cyborganic idea a lot better), and they rode around in this... rocket charriot thing causing chaos (mainly involving setting things on fire, then laughing).
Also, as for the fic, is it mostly centered around Tyrannus and Marvella specifically, taking place on Mars and such, or will the whole Loonatics thing actuslly come into play? Because in my head I've got a beautiful vision of Marvella and Ty going at it on a roof or something. And Marvella winning (natch). And yes, Loonatic seriously needs some better villains. If absolutely nothing else, they NEED better villains, ones that don't come randomly out of nowhere for no apparent reason. The only reason I end up watching the show is for Tech E Coyote. Who seems to be the only one of the team with any sence whatsoever.

Edit: I meant to say "I've got a beautiful vision of Marvella and Lexi going at it on a roof or something." Darn typos...

That is just plain creepy. Especially since I, too, had been listening to "Back in the Day" in my room over and over earlier today O_O.

Well, I don't want to give too much away, but my idea so far had the origins story take place on Mars, where the Loonatics are visting as representatives along with Earth's ambassador. An historic event since it would mark the first time in centuries that both planets have come out of isolation from each other and open relations. Somewhere down the line, Tyrannus, being cocky and wanting to prove his worth, challenges Ace to combat, where they are fairly equal. Though Marvella decides to step in and demonstrate just how much a novice her brother is in comparison to her. I wanted to set it up so that the siblings would later come down to Earth or near Earth to cause mayham.

Awsome! It looks cool! When Ifirst saw this, I thought that Canus was spawn from K-9 too, lol. Is he?
Can't wait to see your fic!

Maybe. Probably. There really is no confirmation whether he is or not (I haven't decided yet). The name however really was was a play on K-9's name in a sense since Canus is the Latin genus name for canines (dogs, wolves, foxes, etc). K-9 was like a Martian coon hound, but it's probable that though a mixture of genes lead to a difference in appearance in the pups.

*claps* Oh, I love it! Hey, is Canus possibly the pup of K-9 and our D-Spot? That would be interesting. *LOL* But these two would be interesting on Loonatics. I haven't actually gotten to see it yet; what channel is it on? And I'd love to see your new fic!

I never thought of that, but that is a really good idea! ^_^ I wasn't sure whether Canus would be an actual descendant of K-9 or if Marvin's half of the family just makes them such avid dog people, members are propelled to adopt a canine companion every generation.
Loonatics is on every Saturday at 9:30 AM on Warner Bros/KidsWB station (Channel 11 in NYC). You can check out the KidsWB site and click on showtimes to get specifics in your area.
Overall, it's not the most spectacular show I've seen, but then there's few around these days. I think it has an aquired taste. Some of the dialogue can be a bit corny at times (especially the first 2 eps). But there've only been 9 eps so far and the show's still getting its legs. I'm hoping the second season shows improvement.
I'm working on the fic, though I'm hesitant to post any part up until it's finished. I'd hate to see it abandoned midway and remain posted as a WIP. I oh so loathe it when others do that, and I'm already guilty of it once before.
