Description
The Itsumaden, another mythical Japanese creature of ill omen that supposedly manifests from the spirits of people who die from war or famine and abandoned without proper burial... the name stems from its supposed constant shrieks of "Itsumademono!" (How long? How long [will I be neglected]?!) as it flies through the skies with a snake-like body and a human-like face that breathes fire. (yeah, I got lazy and used a generic Hannya face... creative license, yes?)

This is the other subject I considered for my full back-piece tattoo but I decided now to go with the Nue instead. An Itsumaden and the Chrysanthemum in the background would need too many colors to do it justice and I am aiming for a monochromatic palette as my skin tone really isn't suitable for colored ink to show up well. Thus, I didn't bother finishing it. It will, however, end up in my portfolio.

In case anyone is planning to use this design or just the chrysanthemum design in the background as a tattoo, just message me about your intention and please give credit where credit is due. I'm not asking for payment but giving due respect for other people's craft is a virtue. ^_^
