I'm one hell of a Naruto hater. I hate the anime and the main character but I like a few characters and couples soooooo much, such as Sai, Sasuke, SasuSaku, SaiSaku and NejiHina. Blame my sister for going on about Naruto almost every day and all day long >_>But Sai's awesome xD Even if he has this slim figure and I ended up drawing him looking like a girl >_>U
And that's how I'm doing my pile of homework.... ^^U

Even though Sai looked like some gay person from some bar in New York, he's such a cool artist XD.

I don't even watch Naruto, but I know some of the characters... and I really Sai here. The scroll and the bg look cool, too.
(Btw, his seiyuu is a pretty good singer and knows English really well. He was kinda born in San Francisco so he should know the language. XD)

LOL, reminds me of of of my last kiribans where I also had to draw some Naruto character ^^
Here the BG looks pretty cool. The scroll lacks some shading though. The character looks fine (even though I don't know him, I have to admit)

I didn't know where to shade the scroll actually. I knew it needed more shading, but I didn't want to ruin it with shadowing as well (as usual) ^^U

Well, as you did the BG via computer, why don't you add some shade via computer, too? Then you can experiment without ruining your original.
