Description & here's another new OC for my TMR series:

      片倉小十郎重長 Katakura Kojuro Shigenaga (25 Jan 1585 - 16 May 1659)

who also known as "Kojuro the Demon" or "the 2nd Kojuro"; & was the eldest son of Katakura Kojuro Kagetsuna , the well known 1st Kojuro

the story when Shigenaga was born was quite famous, for his newborn-self was almost killed by his very own father, only because he's born as a boy, which according to Kagetsuna, the Katakura clan was not supposed to have a son/heir faster than the Date who they were loyal too; & if its not his own lord, Date Tojiro Masamune (who's still 18yo at that time) that personally stops Kagetsuna, Shigenaga probably wont survive the day.....

unlike his father who's more to a strategist, Shigenaga, during his 1st - which also his last major battle at the Summer Battle of Osaka 1615 - where he joined the war in his sick father's steed, he has proven himself to be so powerful & strong to the point that he's nicknamed/known as Kojuro the Demon

aside of that, Shigenaga was also famous for taking in 2 of Sanada Genjiro Nobushige (/Yukimura)'s kids (a boy: Sanada Morinobu, n a girl: Oume-hime) into the Katakura clan; with Morinobu family name changed into Katakura Morinobu, while Oume-hime later became his 2nd wife (altho they were childless)

n because Shigenaga only have a daughter with his 1st wife, he later "adopted" & raised Kagenaga, his very own grandson (ie: his daughter's son) as their (his & Oume's) son or lit. having Kagenaga as the official heir & also the 3rd Kojyuro of the Katakura clan.

on side note: Katakura Morinobu's son, Tatsunobu, was later allowed to have back his actual family name, the Sanada, thus continuing the suppose-to-be-wiped-out Sanada Nobushige's blood line at Oushuu-Sendai

havent figure out a design for his head armor yet, so he's missing it for now lolz XD;;;

Oh my, i really need to see this on desktop site.. (mobile shrinks everything!!)

you know, the fact that Tatsunobu got back the Sanada name makes me more certain that Shigenaga probably adopted Morinobu so that the Sanada bloodline can continue (supposing that Shigenaga probably saw that the Sanadaisn't doing very good after Yukimura's death, hypothetically speaking..)

i dont think a mere pity will be more than enough to make Shigenaga took that kind of action/decission tho; i mean, they were living in this kind of world where losing means death for the lord or even the whole clan;
n considering Masamune who Shigenaga grew up watching (as a page), was known to be merciless to his enemies; & not following or going against his lord's way or footstep can be consider betrayer during those time; not forgetting his strict father who had tried to kill the newborn Shigenaga, yet very overprotective towards the Date clan, might not accept his son's decision that easily.....
so IMO, there might be something more that might have made Shigenaga (& the Date clan in general) took in the Sanada's kids - it just, no one can knows what it was now =w=;
