Description
This titan was discovered dormant underground in Mount Myoko in 2001. A local legend rumored a horned deity with thorn was worshipped for more than a thousand years and it possesses an appearance identical to the titan, thus naming him Baragon, and as a member of Titanus baragora, the name of the mentioned deity.
This superspeces shares a similar skull with the Titan, Methuselah, which both of them also have burrowing habits. Both Titans are large in body size, horned and are quadrupedal. They are now suggested to be relatives. These similarities provide possibilities in predicting Baragon’s behavior: consume radiation energy and minerals, camouflage and excellent durability.
Baragon also shares physical appearance with large-sized bears, such as Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears. A pair of muscular armored fore legs enables the Titan to dig into bedrocks and move in his will underground. His powerful bulk jaw allows him to crush through minerals and armor. The hind leg can also withstand Baragon’s entire body weight, suggesting a vertical posture is possible for the Titan.
A pair large spread ears is a unique characteristics of this superspecies. They enhance the sense of hearing by concentrating the sounds and vibrations via the outer ears. Such function is vital to his ground-dwelling behavior, yet this could be a disadvantage due to the fact that he cannot bear noise and loud voices.
Aside from the ability of burrowing, Baragon can also withstand the heat from magma with the bronze-toned scales. Such scales are reinforced with several minerals and his own secretion, providing him unrivalled performance in defense.
A heat beam attack that radiates neutrons is theorized given the assumption of the Titan’s diet on minerals and radiation, which radioactive elements, such as uranium, are highly possibly included.
The Titan was called Baragon of the Armor (YOROI NO BARAGON), the “True Bear” deity (MA-GUMA NO GAMI) and Baragora, passing through many generations as spoken legend in the villages near Mount Myoko. The legend said Baragon once used his body to prevent the landslide from rushing towards the village there after heavy rainfall so that he saved the village people. The people thus built him a shrine and served him as the mountain god of Mount Myoko.
After revision to other supplementary materials, the Titan was discovered to have an ancient rivalry with Angira and Baradagi, the other two reptilian deities resting somewhere in Japan, which possibly Titans as well.
