Thank you for the kind words Kamal. Yeah, I wasn't happy with the background either but it was the client's choice. A library background with stacks of books and rows after rows of scroll would have been a better fit, maybe a backpack resting behind the character's feet would have been the perfect choice for this one. Alas, the client couldn't afford the background so I made this generic one which I made layered so it can be removed if needed to. Β

I understand what you mean. Many times watching incredible illustrations I felt like I would never get to be that good. But in the end its all about the journey. I accepted that I will spend my life learning and accepted the joy my own work brings - to me and others. Always strive for improvement but don't let the perfectionism kill the joy of just doing what you love.

I'm glad you enjoy them. In all honesty its nothing that out of the ordinary for me, maybe doing this kind of character so often has blinded me to some things. Its a simple character but I think the simplicity is what I enjoyed most about it.
