Description
This map is about an alternative Australia, a new federal republic that would be reformed territorially. Queensland would be split up into two states: North Queensland (capital city: Townsville) and South Queensland (capital city: Brisbane). In addition, a new state would be established from most of area of Northern Territory: North Australia (capital city: Darwin). Central Desert region, MacDonnell region, Alice Springs municipality and Yulara unincorporated area would be seperated as the Central Territory (capital town: Alice Springs), that would incorporate most of South Australian outback. Finally, Western Australia would be reduced to regions of Perth, Peel, South West, Great Southern and Wheatbelt and it would be renamed as Swan. Rest of it would be turned into two new territories: Gascoyne Territory (capital town: Geraldton) and Midwestern Territory (capital town: Kalgoorlie-Boulder).Australia and all states and territories would adopt new flags that are shown.

Why do North Australia, Gascoyne, Midwestern,Β and Central not have fancy borders?

They were based on current limits of Australian local government areas . Just limit between Central Territory and South Australia is created by me, because those places are part of an unincorporated area.
