So what. You don't need to fix it. He's fine. NEXT!
I really like the tension. I feel the force behind that punch. Nice and dynamic, man.

Well, it looks like a "fah" concept and I'm sayin' that based soley on a few pics. That's sumthin' if you can pull in my interest from a few pics.
Good luck with it, but I will BET that I miss it when it finally comes out. Life is sorta' unfair like that.
Take care.

This works on so many levels Matt. I wouldn't change a thing. The legs are perfect as you nailed that "Going for that long mid-air hong kong style jump". His right arm has a bit of exageration (did I spell that right?) but it works as it gives a feeling of movement and force behind it. The facial expression is my favorite, and I can't believe you sat on this buddy. Great job.

I think you may be a bit delusional. This pose seems really fine to me. If I'd do anything I'd extend the left leg a bit.
When I do jumping poses and stuff, I use the opposites rule. If the left arm is bent, then bend the right leg. If the right arm is straight, or straigter then the left, then extend the left leg.
Does that make sense? It's all about balance and not having the characters seem like they are leaning.
Having said that...I still think this if fine and strong.

i totally agree w/ the opposites thing....i just don't think i excecuted it well here.
I was trying to have the leg on the left be the extended leg but also still craned back a little. Going for that long mid-air hong kong style jump, i dunno. Thanks alot for the tips, man

You got that "Popeye" thing going with the forearm... FYI: I saw some of your work on the ethernet, and I 'm not sure if they gave you any cred... Just thought I'd let you know.

yeah, i'll claim fault on the Popeye thing, i've always drawn big forearms....probably always will.
If you come across it again shoot me a link so i can check it out, i'd appreciate it.

Looks good to me. If I had to make a suggestion on what is bothering you I'd say it might be that you need to have his left leg(to our right) extended a bit more to counter the extended right arm. I fight with stuff like that constantly.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
mattcrap In reply to VagabondX [2008-06-12 14:20:30 +0000 UTC]
yeah, the balance seems to be the consensus...now do you mean extended LONGER or up higher?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
VagabondX In reply to mattcrap [2008-06-13 00:26:07 +0000 UTC]
I'd say just don't have the lower part of the leg tucked up under so much. Extend it out more. Like he's going to land on that foot or is standing on that foot.
