Like always I drew, inked, and colored the figures traditionally with pencil, pen, and Copic markers, then added the background via Photoshop.
Interesting thing about the background: I originally had the shadows facing the opposite direction (completely conflicting with the shadows on Howl and Sophie). I had to move the figures layer to another project page so that I could flip the BG image so that it would fit.
I actually saw this movie before Princess Mononoke, but it took me forever before I found the scene that resonated with me.
All characters owned by Studio Ghibli, and Hayoa Miyazaki
