don't forget victory is written by the victor and there's are even laws which say that war crimes are set by the victor too. often what's the case is that even if the soldier has commited war crimes they get a sentence which is then reduced and after that reduced again.

the international civilian rights or whatever they are called but they're the rules of war which say that you can't use gass, modified bullets and all other weaponary that are to dangerous and deadly, in these rules there are also things like your not allowed to torture captives or kill them.
