To be honest, I think I messed this one up. But I wanted to post it because there are some elements I like to it. I do like the hat, which took a while for me to finally get right, at least in my view that is. The eyes are ok, but I think it's the nose that I don't like. But hey, we should put up even the mistakes right. Cause that's how we get better. So please, any tips, or techniques I'd love to hear back.Thanks,

Thank you very much. This is the one I always see, and everyone seems to like, but I just can't get around to liking. I'm looking for that right picture to do again, and do justice to the performance he gave in the movies. But like I always say, I know I can do better. But, I really appreciate the comment, and again, thank you very much.

I think its the mouth not the nose but then I can't draw real people very well LOL...ITs a fantastic piece no matter what! May I put a piece of your art in my CSS under Favs?(it's done with your thumbnail and linked to you when clicked) would LOVE one on my perm. Favs show off section lol

Oh, you may put anything you want to...(we're supposed to ask first...uh oh) This is probably the one I get a ton of comments on...and yet I still want to do it, or a similar one, again sometime...my mom and I argue about it all the time, but there's just something about it....eh, high standards now I guess...lol..

Aniother one. Do you know how many arguements I get into over this one. But before I get into trouble, I like....LIKE...this drawing. I don't love it. It's probably the main one I look at all the time and just think..."Damn, I'm much better now, than I was then...I should do this over." I don't get the same feeling I get from the other ones I've done of him, or for that matter, most of my other drawings. Yeah, maybe I'm being too self critical here, but that's just me. (I'm a little strange...stick around a while, read some of my journals, and you'll catch on to that really quickly...lol)

I know what you mean... I often look at some of my old work knowing that I could redo it so much better. But then again, drawing is much different than photography. You may take hours and hours to draw a photo... thus redoing it would take lots of effort. I can just snap a button. Ta-da! So I do admire your field of work.

I love him as well..(check out my gallery, I have a few of him in there.) But of all of them, everyone seems to like this one, and this is the one I like the least. Yeah, probably gonna give this one another go...and everyone wonders why...lol..

I'm the farthest from the artist, but I do love Pirates of the Caribbean. The eyeliner' should be a little thicker and more smudged and messy rather than neat and tame.
Also - maybe the tip of the nose wider? I don't believe Johnny Depp has a narrow nose, but I could be wrong.

You know, of all the drawings I have done, this is the one that I really, really want to do over again. I think when I did it the first time, I kinda rushed it a bit, plus I wasn't that good yet...just haven't gotten around to it as of yet, but I am looking for something to draw tonight....hmmmm

Yeah, I really haven't liked this one all that much...but everyone else seem to like it...sooooo. But then again, I'm my worst critic....and as I've said to others..as an artist..you should never be satisfied...cause then you don't grow anymore.
And yes...a son of scotland here. (Ok, so I'm a son of a daughter of Scotland..but same thing right?)

yeah...I always had a hard time understanding my great-grandmother....funny thing is now it's second nature to me, and I can tell the difference in the accent...just makes people smile when I ask where in Scotland they are from....most ask them if they are english...and you just shouldn't do that...lol..

Well, I am my own worst critic. I have been told by a lot of people they like this one. I myself, don't like it, and yes, will probably do it again...(Have to by june...I have a display coming up) But thank you very much for the fav...i'm glad you liked it....

that's crazy! what softness of pencils do you use?

I use a full range, from 2H-9B (yes some companies do go that soft) Normally I stick with the basics, 2B, 4B, 6B...but once in a while, something has to be darker.....

I think the hat is perfect, too. The nose is actually pretty good...I think all you'd need to do is blend it a little more and pull out soft highlights
