This is a painting I did a few years ago. It is covered by glass. If you look carefully you can see my reflection when I took a photo of it to post it!

Great work! Love the composition and the crisp colours and lines. I'm always envious of those who manage to paint buildings well. lol! I'm struggling with that aspect a lot. May I ask if you sketch out the the image before painting on the canvas and if you painted this is sections or layers?

Thank you very much for your kind comments! I sketched out a portion of it and then scaled the rest of it as I painted it. I painted in layers to try and build the effect of the buildings and walls!

Thanks very much for your reply! You did really with it. I rarely ever sketch for my paintings, but when I saw this painting of yours, it got me thinking about it. Perhaps I should try it more often, would definitely help with buildings in particular.

You're welcome! Sometimes I don't sketch for my paintings, but at times it is quite helpful to get the right scale and perspective!
