Ignis is an independent and hardworking individual with nothing nice to say, most of the time. Although he may not be the most sociable person, he takes pride in being strong, self-reliant and disciplined. He often believes that being self-sufficient is better than relying on people, because that often gives him a reason to have to give back (even favors, and factors of getting even), which most of the time is something he rather not do, due to his prideful nature. Quite stubborn, he is also the kind that would stand and fight to his very last breath. Even so, a part of him knows how to listen and he is also able to hold his tongue and be civil when presented with fact.

Quick to judge people on mere glance, he prefers solitude and to having little to a few close friends, especially those that could break through the wall that he puts up, plus those who don't mind his evasive behaviour and use of sarcastic words. In fact, persistence seems to be the only way to make him give into company. He is terrible at expressing what he really means, and due to that he often resorts to insulting or not saying anything at all. He is temperamental and moody too, he finds it difficult control his anger, and is very easily annoyed. Despite so, he is observant enough (if he only made more effort to instead of judging people asap) to know if a person is being genuine or fake. Only so, he would slowly let his guard down, and show his awkward tries to be nicer to those he actually makes effort to care about.

Background :

The Soldatov family history dates back to the Middle Ages, and above of it all, they were a family of supernatural hunters hailing from Moscow, Russia. It was prime in their time where they hunted down many supernatural beings, both good and bad as long as they were non-human; although specifically werewolves during their time, than the rest of the supernatural beings. During those times, they rose to the occasion and were named 'Undertakers'. It was the 1750s when half the family moved to Britain, an Anglo-Russian expatriate business community with generally cooperative diplomatic relations between the Russian and British empires. The family name was still strong and influential then and they served under the Preternatural Affairs Bureau but Ignis' family line diluted down when his mother married a local and adopted the husband's family name, due to the controversy behind it.

While affiliated with the Bureau, the family managed a funeral directing service, where Ignis and his younger brother, Mischa was born into. Sharpened at a young age, Ignis had to learn both, which is to become an undertaker, and to be an agent. Whilst learning the family business of funeral directing with the father, he trained with his mother, who is a strong fighter and person. Ignis eventually joined the Bureau when he was ready to, and went to train under the Bureau before he was officially registered as one of their agents. However, the family service with agents under the Bureau was not to be known by many aside from the people in the Bureau itself, in the surface of a preternatural and normal funeral service where it was catered and unprejudiced to any of the races.

The Solus family business takes cares of the body of preternatural occurrences, let it be accidents or deaths, allowing them their final resting peace, and funeral, if so needed. Reputable by their name and services, they were called specifically as the 'Undertakers' than generalised funeral directors or morticians in history, and then by the Bureau due to their nature and job.
