Gah, curse you freaking animal tester maniacs... -.-'
And this is when they start playing with Blank's mental capacities, right? I read something like that in one of your older drawings of Blank and Shale.

haha, close but not yet
I need to introduce the characters a bit more I think
I have so much to tell about them.
like how blank is such a cutie and full of hopes and dreams.
and he wants to see the sun and real grass and feel the wind and one time he makes shale help him escape so they can try and see out a window found in one of the other rooms.
stuff like taht needs to happen because i need to make people like him enough to hurt them when things go bad X3

I like that in a comic. Bad guys don't always start out bad! They had dreams and hopes and a promising future before something went wrong!
Oh, and, by the way, I never mentioned before how glad I am that someone is doing a comic about lab rats. I was going to do one, but it kinda fell flat... Rats are among my top favorite animals. And I think people need to understand how horrible animal testing is...

I have to agree with the other commentors, the hands worked out quite well. Two small things though.
I don't know about pet owners, but researchers don't handle rats by the scruff of the neck. They either grab at the base o the tail (most common, 90% of the time) or for certain procedure your wrap the thumb and pointer and round the animal just under the arms. Both lead to a painless, but secure hold. That hold would probably hurt the animal and it would spin around and bite if it wriggled enough.
Was also wondering what you chose as your rat strain? Based on the two tones, I would think this was in a laboritory making K.O. animals, but that's pretty rarely done in rats. If you just wanted to make them idenifiable via different colors, I think it's fair enough to fall into the catagory of suspension of disbelief.

holding an animal by the scruff actually isn't really painful at all and it restricts movement so the animal wouldn't be allowed to swivel round and bite.
holding an animal by the base of its tail especially a rat is actually painful for the animal and has a high risk of damaging their tail or spine if they struggle because a rats body is heavier than that of a mouse its tail cannot support its weight well
that method of holding rats is very frowned upon in the rat community though I am aware it is common to hold lab rats like that.
the other method you explained is fine though.
really the colour is simply for retaining the differences between characters as having all white arts would make it impossible for me as an artist to make distinguishable animals
but as the premise for this story is fictional as is (rats with psychic abilities are only so believable after all)
though in fancy rats all these colourings are true I am aware most lab rats are pure white
but the story here focuses more on two wrongs don't make a right and such.
though i myself am against animal testing
the plot here as more to do with the rats in a fictional sense
though i thank you for your input greatly

Dibdkdkjdbknsinsbksh! I'm so happy you responded, your like my role model!
Anyway, I'm basically the same way, I love many animals, but I have to say rats are my favorite! And when I grow up, I plan on getting two rats also, but I heard that having two males results in fighting, are yours brothers or something? :3
