Sybal Form: Roaming River Guardian
Humanoid in shape, Jannali’s sybal is striking. Her face bears a resemblance to how she looked when she was younger, before the time she lost her family. Her back is lined with spines and, like Colo, she is able to flex and relax them at will. She has bright green and red patterning on her body, marked with dark stripes.

Sybal Power: When she slaps the surface of water with her tail, she is able to walk across it (like walking on a trampoline.) If she is touching someone else, they can also walk on water with her. If they break contact with her, they will drop into the water like normal. If she decides she no longer wants to walk on water, she simply slaps the water with her tail again.

Personality: Jannali is a reserved woman with a bedrock of quiet strength. When she makes decisions, they are made with assurance and composure. She has seen a great deal of tragedy in her life and through her adversity she has developed a high degree of compassion for others. She tends to be a forgiving individual.

History: Jannali was a wife and mother. She suffered the losses of two babies, but had three living children and was happy with her lot life. Her husband died in 1790, and from there her sorrows began. Her eldest son and daughter, along with her own brother, became sick and died as a result of the arrival of invaders to the shore. Her youngest son, her last surviving child, disappeared one day after hearing news that the man he most admired had been killed by the invaders. Jannali fell into a deep, debilitating depression for several years and was cared for by her sister as they moved to avoid violence and more sickness. Eventually Jannali became the second wife of another man. He was good to her and had three children of his own with his first wife. It took time for Jannali to adjust and overcome her emotional afflictions, but eventually she came to love the family she was welcomed into. She never had any other children and for the rest of her life, even after she came to a healthier mental state, she ached for her family, and longed to know the fate of her youngest son. From time to time, the pain would resurface and she would go for walks to comfort herself. It was during one such walk, while desperately missing her lost loved ones, that the trees before her changed and she felt a call to continue onward. She heeded the call and was brought to none other than her youngest son, who had not aged a day since last she saw him. Unsure if she had entered the Spirit Realm in a vision, or if she was witnessing her dead son’s spirit, she gently refused to speak to him (for fear of endangering his soul.) Because of her advanced years, her son did not recognize her immediately and for a time she kept the secret to herself.
Then on Nov. 3rd 1894, the Siege of Seele Estate began...
