I've had this image in my WIP folder since September 2014.I always thought that one day, I would finish it. But with that v3 ending... I can't bring myself to do it.
I wanted to post it anyway.
Excuse me while I still try to get over the finale. If you haven't caught up yet, I suggest doing so. It's insane.

Actually, I have a better idea! If there's one thing MasakoX's DBZ what-if videos have taught me, it's that it can be interesting to see what could have been by rewriting the story. So, let's see what we can do. What if Cynder spared Pyrrha out of pity? I'll start it off. Cynder sees that it would be pointless (and anger the fans) to kill Pyrrha, since she's in such a helpless state, so she just tells Pyrrha that she's "getting off easy this round" and leaves. Jaune, having found out about his semblance offscreen, jumps to the rescue (albeit a bit late) and heals Pyrrha, who thanks him with a kiss in what might as well be the number one on WatchMojo.com 's top 10 RWBY scenes. So, with Pyrrha still in the mix, the story would obviously be more deep and involved.

Interesting, however it goes against Cinder's character and it would undo a lot of good character development. I mean, I love Pyrrha and hated seeing her die, but just retconning it like that feels lazy IMO.

Yeah, but keep in mind, Cinder only spares her out of pity. However, when Cinder explains to Salem that she decided to keep Pyrrha alive, Salem thinks that this decision might be even better, as it may lead to more blood for them to shed in future battles. Anyway, meanwhile, Team JNPR is talking about how they’re helping Ruby with her objective and Pyrrha brings up that it would be cool for their team and Team RWBY to come together. Nora agrees, and comes up with “Superteam RWBYJNPR,” to which Ren responds with “A crystal tree? Seriously?” It is at that moment that Jaune reminds Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren to focus, though he does admit that a “ruby juniper” sounds cool. When Ruby and that giant Grimm gheist golem thing appear, Pyrrha runs alongside Jaune. But when the poor guy flies right into the tree, Pyrrha gives him his sword and shield, which she had stowed in a backpack she found, just in case. The two stand back-to-back, blocking a flurry of boulders together with their shields rather impressively.
Jaune: “YOU don’t need weapons. YOU’RE the strategist!”
Pyrrha: *Holds out Sword and Shield* Need this?
Jaune: *Takes The Sword and Shield* Thanks Pyrrha. *Jaune and Pyrrha start fight while also protecting each other*
During the limb-breaking strategy, Pyrrha circles the beast’s legs, trying to trip it up. Upon winning, Jaune says, “Another victory for…um…us.”
In the scene in the metalshop, Pyrrha defends Jaune and his taste in hoodies. Also, she offers to wear Jaune's old armor for him, as it might fit her.
Pyrrha: ...And You Forget that I was On more than Half of the boxes for that line of cereal, right?
Ruby: Oh Yeeah... Forgot about that.
Pyrrha: Plus...I think it’s really cute.

Deadpool: Ignore that, just consider the girl dead.
Me: Thanks Wade, I knew I could count on you. But there are a few things you should probably know first.

Me: Well first and foremost this woman can fly, control the weather, and shoot fireballs mercilessly on top of using a bow and various forms of dust.
Deadpool: I hear ya, so what exactly do I need to be worried about?
Me: How did I know that wouldn't even phase you? Anyway the last thing is than it needs to be drawn out and painful, I'm serious Wade make it last more than an hour.
Deadpool: Wow, you really don't like this lady do ya?
Me: No I do not. Oh and if there happens to be a red haired bull Faunus with her kill him too, it doesn't have to be as drawn out so undeniably dead works in a pinch, I'll pay extra.
Deadpool: Hey I still owe you for gift wrapping me little Nui here, this ones on the house pal. Hey you aint done yet, three time sure as hell aint enough.
Me: ...uh thanks Wade... you're the best.
Deadpool: You know it, I'll call ya when it's all said and done.

As devastated as I was about Pyrrha's death, I don't think she's going to be alone for very long. With some research I did, I have a gut feeling that Jaune is going to die next. No, not because he's the weakest fighter or to reunite the star crossed lovers of the Arkos pairing. I believe he's going to die next because of who he and his worst enemy are based on. Jaune is based on Joan of Arc, the woman who led the French to many successful battles against England in the Hundred Year War; while Cardin is based on the Cardinal of Winchester, who tried Joan as a witch and burned her at the stake for being a heretic. Knowing that the two of them are still treading on thin ice with each other, should Cardin become swayed by the villains and join them, I believe Jaune is very screwed.

While I agree that, judging on who Jaune is based off, he will probably die, I don't think it'll be anytime soon. Joan of Arc became a hero before she died. Jaune will probably rise in power, he'll get stronger and do something heroic before he kicks the bucket. Joan of Arc died at 19, so I reckon he's got a ways to go before they kill him off.
If they kill him off. While they made Pyrrha suffer her fate based on her namesake, it wouldn't surprise me if they don't actually go ahead with it for Jaune. For some reason, they all love him a lot, and with Miles being his VA 'n all, I can see copious amounts of favouritism from him. So yeah. Technically, Jaune should die, but I don't think they'll go through with it. Probably have some bullshit reason for him defying his "destiny" or something idk.
