Submission for the LET THE GOD/GODDESS DESCEND UPON US contest by
Charon, ferryman to the river of dead. Contemporary myth places two coins on the eyes of the dead to pay passage to the ferryman. I was originally going to title the piece, "Lady Charon", but thought it more fun with a twist.
Wicked-looking staff and glowing orb by the talented duo Danie & marforno (DM). I fell in love with the staff as soon as I saw it up at Renderosity and couldn't wait to get it in a render. The beautiful pose is also by them, and created just the right balance of tension and power. Thx DM! As always, impressive work. Flawless and immaculate skin by Silver. It is much more natural looking than the lighting shows here, but it worked excellent for picking up all the haunting blues. Voluptuous body shape by the gifted vyktohria. Thank you vyktohria! The wonderful flowing cloak is by Frequency. My first time working with dynamic clothing and I was so impressed! The cloak draped so naturally and phenomenally over the figure. Gorgeous blindfold and dangling coins are part of the Arkana set by Lesthat & Val3dart, and worked wonders for enhancing the picture and story. Elegant and seductive top and skirt by nikisatez & OziChick, and added so much more power and sway to the pose. Sleek and trim boat by 1971s. His ships and craftsmanship are absolutely stunning and I was so excited to have a composition where I could use his work. Incredibly realistic water is from the TerraDome AquaZone set by Colm, Syyd & Traveler, so lucky to have stumbled across their work. Their outdoor sets are amazing!
