I love all your artwork, but this one really took my breath away. I haven't seen many angel pieces that really convey the grace of angels, as opposed to just their beauty. This one is both beautiful to look at, and really makes me believe in angels as messengers of God (not that I'm religious, but I felt it when I looked at this piece). It's just so serene and simply gorgeous. Wish I could draw like this!

Hey, I'm no expert, so perhaps I cannot fully appreciate the worth of this drawing... but the usage of black and white on a non-white papre makes it almost three-dimensional. Great trick.
And the figure itself is so... serene. Just the way I imagine angels should be.

The term for what you've described, Corleinne, is chiaroscuro, which means "light and dark", and artists use it to give a feeling of dimensionality. It works beautifully in this image.

Graphite and white pencil on Canson Mi-Teint paper. Twas hard to do cos you cant' mix the white with the black so you need to know what you're doing before you do it.

wow, great job, i know what you mean, its the same as chalk pastels and pencil crayon
charcoal white sometimes can be a time saver, stays pretty consistant even when over darker colors/shades
