I've uploaded a file about three times larger than I usually do for those who want to see the details better.


Done completely in Photoshop CS4
This is my first photomanipulation in a very long time and the first time I've really worked with layers. I think I used seven or eight layers total.
I got the idea for this while I was painting "Night Light" [link] , it just looked like it would make a great evening gown.

The background is a photo of mine from my files which I've manipulated quite a bit in addition to some digital painting.
The Faerie wings and the lower portion of the gown were both digitally painted.

Huuuge image! But you are right, this way one can see really well the many details you put here.
I like the idea to use the blossom as her dress, I just think her haircolour and bright make up don't match the colour of the dress, but that's personal taste!

and I really don't like posting work that size but I wanted people to see the details of the faerie without posting a separate detail image.

Thanks Lucia, the dress was my main reason for doing the work. Everything else was secondary and selected to fit the theme.

I agree, the hair color doesn't really compliment the dress colors. I tried different lengths and shades of blonde, brunette and black but wasn't happy with that either. I decided the original color fit my idea for this elfin, faerie type character better. But then as you say, it is definitely a case of personal taste.
