Description this is an old picture I have had for some time now, don't know how I got it but i dont know any of my family on my fathers side and it possibly could be from him...who knows, but i have always treasured this photo and would like to share. i have done a little bit of research on it and this is what i have found.
part of the 308th Bombardment Group that served in China, Burma and India from Sept. 1942 to Nov. 1945
The 308th Bomb Group (Heavy) was activated on April 15, 1942 and began combat operations in China in March 1943. it consisted of the 373rd, 374th, 375th and 425th Bombardment Squadrons. Equipped with Consolidated B-24’s, the 308th was the only Heavy Bomber Group in the14th Air Force. The 308th was awarded a Distinguished Unit Citation for unescorted attacks through anti-aircraft fire and fighter defenses against docks and warehouses at Hankow on August 21,1945. The man that painted the nose art on Ding How Dottie was Paul Stanley Michaels...he also painted a number of other nose art on planes during the war. You might have seen the photo of him on a ladder painting it...i was submitted by his son. Sadly, he passed away in 2007 here in Tacoma, Washington. His obituary is still online.

Wow. I always love photos with a story behind them and that's some story. I really love the picture itself... it's particularly well taken too.

Looks like the fix is going (turning it yellow)

You might want to run in through photoshop, see if you can't white balance it and restore some contrast.
