You are joking, right? I listen to metal a lot. There are moments when I listen to death/thrash metal, and there is nothing wrong with that. I had a school friend from Medicine University who was listening to this a lot, and there is nothing wrong with that. I more prefer listening to Gothic/doom/progressive and power metals since those genres are my top favorite. I hope you are trolling.

Music
Definition: vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.

Heavy metal, country, hip hop, rap, etc. are all music. Even tapping a hand against a hallowed out gourd with a form of a beat is music. Heavy Metal may not be as "fluent" as say, the sound track for Assassin's Creed or Beethoven, but it's still a form of music.

Now, you don't need to like it. I'm not a fan of heavy metal. I prefer hip hop, rap, rock, and certain soundtracks from movies and games, but if someone likes heavy metal, well, good for them. If you don't, good for you. As long as your actions aren't harming anyone, from humans, non-human animals, etc. who fucking cares what you do. What matters is that you are a good person who lives a compassionate lifestyle and respect people for their decisions, as long as they aren't harming anyone.

So, even if you hate heavy metal, the reality of it is that it IS music. So, trying to be angry and hateful towards it and those who listen to it is just really being immature and hurtful. Not everyone who listens to it are bikers covered in tattoos and drinking at bars. I know some "normal looking" people who enjoy it. It's just another form of art that some like, and some don't. Just let people have fun with it. They aren't hurting anyone. In the end, all that matters is if people enjoy it, no one is hurt, and the bands have fun doing what they love by making music that they like.

There are far more important things to be fighting against and being upset over than people's taste in music. Besides, you can take heavy metal music and try to play it with kid's toy instruments and it actually becomes something really silly and fun to enjoy.
