Description This is from several months ago, when I was on a carousel horse kick. I love the dynamic and intensely detailed look of carousel horses, and couldn't help but design some of my own. I only ever finished one or two, but I like the ones I finished. This one is themed after the ocean... sort of makes me homesick for Florida.

Hi. Your work is beautiful. I am looking for an artist to work with to expand my line of items in my Etsy shop. Would you be interested in letting me use your carousel horse designs for a percentage of my profit?
I have a laser engraving machine and can reproduce art on things like acrylic and wooden Christmas ornaments, etc. The percentage split would depend on how much production work I had to put in to get each item ready, but I'm thinking somewhere around 25/75 profit split (after my materials, seller fees, postage, etc. are paid for.)Β  Let me know what you think!

Sounds like it could be a pretty good deal. Β  Β Do you have a contract written up or anything? Β I would be fine with granting you non-exclusive rights to print the images on your products for a percentage of the profits, as long as I would retain the rights to the works themselves, but I'd like to get the details in writing before I officially agree to anything.

I have a few that I drew years ago that I need to scan; one sun and one moon themed. I'm not sure I'll be doing more other than that, at least not anytime soon.

oh meli, its beautiful! are u going to color it? very good job drawing the horse too. ^^ we have a big indoor carusel where i live, it's historical and a couple years ago they... what's the word, renewed...i forget anyway the made them look like new and now they's even a goat in there! (can't remember why tho -_-'

I don't know that I'll get a chance to color it myself... but if anyone else wants to give it a try, they're welcome to, as long as they show me how it turns out! I've never seen any antique carousels in person, just the more modern ones they have at fairs and such.

Thanks! (I prefer to make my carousel horses neuter, since that seems to be the way most of them are carved.)

Do they run that carousel at night? Few things are prettier than a carousel at night. ^_^

They only run it until 8 PM so it isn't really dark yet when it closes. Once it gets closer to the fall, it may be dark when they close, I can't recall.
