Description TEAM PROBLEM:
- While the Medic maybe a healer first and foremost, he is not so exclusively, and there are competitive ways for him to fight some classes.  His weapons have the strongest stopping power of all support classes in CQC (Spy and Sniper relying on assassination) and he can even make a Demoman's life difficult if he gets too close (thereby making bomb use risky).  Even an engineer without a sentry will find it difficult to deal with one due to his health regeneration and the fact he has the highest HP of all support classes.

Scouts, Soldiers, Heavies, and Pyros are still your worst enemies, though.

I did this for kicks because the idea of 'Battleshy' made me laugh. x3

Fun Fact:  Medic's melee weapons have almost as much range as the Eyelander.

Other Fun Fact: Medic gets crit-chance increases for assist kills gained by healing.

And that, kiddies, is why Medic always wins at melee.

what about Scout?

Increased attack speed doesn't necessarily make up for the reduced damage. Holding down M1 is not as effective as timing your hits.

That's for his defult bat but what about his other melees? He has the Sandman which can stun people, the Boston Basher that can cause bleeding damage, and the Fan O' War that marks players for death

no I mean I thought the Scout was the best when it came to melee weapons

Oh, as a character?  I was talking about in the actual game.

In the lore (not sure if that'd be the right word), he'd probably be up there.  Demo, of course, is a professional Scotsman, but Scout could be second.  I imagine he would make up for the lack of musculature by being extremely agile, dodging around swings and repeatedly striking weak points.  Seems like the kind of guy who would go for the nutshot, you know?

You know, while I'm fine with your new cast loadout, it's not cool to mock the 'traditional' one.

Medic is my favorite class and many people think you are easy to kill... Until you swing one of your 100% guaranteed melee crits

Metal-Kitty In reply to TrevorRain [2014-08-03 22:40:05 +0000 UTC]

Weakest doesn't mean incapable; the Sniper's jarate is quite useful if you can actually get a few good swings in with the Sniper's melee.  Truth be told, I find Jarate more useful than his actual SMGs (When playing Sniper, my build typically is Sydney Sleeper, Jarate, and Bushwaka), but if you miss with the jarate, your chances of survival tend to fall drastically.

Hey whats your opinion on the Cleaner's Carbine it 's an SMG that has a slightly slower firing speed, and a slightly smaller clip size but is slilent and can build up a "Crikey" meter which makes you deal mini crits for 8 secounds

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Metal-Kitty In reply to RaingThunder [2016-08-01 01:30:49 +0000 UTC]

Not very good.  The sniper doesn't do well in the thick of battle, so your opportunity to charge the weapon is ideally limited.  The SMGs should be reserved for defensive purposes.

While perhaps I am wrong, I find needleguns rather pathetic. I don't play as medic without my Crusaders Crossbow because I want to be able to defend myself than just heal.

Heh, I remember one time in Harvest I counter-sniped Snipers and I was just a Medic with my crossbow. Snipers tend to need a brief moment to aim and I was playing peek-a-boo of death with them.

They aren't highly damaging on single-shots, but if you can lead your targets and hold up the pressure, they can be quite devastating, especially to enemies with lower HP.

MysticM In reply to Metal-Kitty [2014-08-03 21:57:52 +0000 UTC]

I find the use of needleguns weak and a bit difficult. But I feel much more confident as a Medic with my Crossbow.

Battle Medics are questionable choice of gameplay because Medics arn't simply built for offensive combat that the other classes are made for. But I will "battle" purely out of defence, such as taking on Support or Defence classes.

But I will plea guilty of being a Demoknight. My TF2 friend of mine hates this of me but I seem to be better with my Eyelander, Splended and Booties than I am with usual grenades and stickies.

All in all Soldier and Scout are usually my main choice of classes, mostly because I love CtF.

Metal-Kitty In reply to MysticM [2014-08-03 22:17:18 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, but it doesn't mean they are impossible to do.

THe main thing you do with a needle gun is lead your targets.  Predict their movements.  It has a higher damage output than the Sniper's SMG (which is like being hit by a barrage of spitwads) and if you're using the Blutsauger it comes with the added bonus of restoring health.  Given needleguns are pretty crap in ranged combat, close range they can be quite deadly.

Crusader's Crossbow is just the opposite; it's great for support fire, but crap in CQC.  It's mostly intended for Medieval Mode, though it can be used effectively during normal gameplay as well.

Additionally, the Medic gets an increased chance to crit as he gets assist kills through healing, and since he's not killing people, he builds that up.  A Medic who switches between healing and hurting can become quite a deadly foe if he knows what he's doing.

He isn't built to fight, but he is built to survive.  He's a thinking class; he's all about knowing what to do, who to heal, and when to ubercharge, etc.

I guess I am a pretty decent medic if I do say so myself. I won't say I am absolute best at it.

For example, Heavy can go round the corner first while I wiat out of range in the corridor while continuously healing him.

Bother me when the Heavy just waltz on ahead and have to follow him into the danger zone.

Metal-Kitty In reply to Blackfire2Q [2014-08-03 20:14:07 +0000 UTC]

Not so much a dislike as it is that I can't ignore some of the issues I see in them.

This is basically what I see everytime I see them; gaping holes in reason and logic, massive fissures in ration, defeat of character and ideal, etc.
I used to be fine with them, really.  It's one of those thing where one day I was like 'why' and since then I can't unsee it, sort of thing.

Then I decided I could make it funny!

Y'know, they should make a medigun for battlemedics, like maybe one that gives a 5 second longer ubercharge to the user or something.

Metal-Kitty In reply to coolclaytony [2014-08-03 20:26:48 +0000 UTC]

A Battle-Medic ubergun would likely give the Medic an ubercharge that he could use when switching weapons.

I am not a very good Battle Medic. And I hardly use my Crusader's Crossbow (which I conveniently named "Cutie mark Crusader's Crossbow") as a weapon, more to give a small HP boost to the allies that I can't reach with my Medi Gun, mostly to keep them alive a little longer until I can heal them properly!
