Is the tan/gold shoulder pad intended as a lion's head? I understand it's WIP, but at the moment it's hard to tell whether it's that or just an ornate shoulderpad, and looks more like he has a jagged, lumpy piece of yellowish rock for a shoulder. I'm also curious why the bolter has a barrel attachment that looks like a lasweapon muzzle.

Otherwise though, it's a brilliant-looking Marine. He almost looks like an SAS marine, what with the beret and drum-fed, vertical-grip and scope-attachment enhanced boltgun. In 40k terms I'd say he translates to a badass Sternguard sergeant or the like.

Sternguard sargeant sounds about right. The shoulder pad is going to be a lion head. The bolter still needs a little work, it's stalker pattern with extended/silenced barrel.

Ah, ok. I'd suggest taking another glance at some reference models and artwork; bolter silencers generally seem to take the shape of a chunky, thick section of metal pipe, slightly greater diameter than the bolter muzzle and a fair bit longer than they are wide, with four rectangular protrusions (Orthagonal top, bottom, left and right) and sometimes a modest bevel on the muzzle end. As mentioned, currently the shortish/angled barrel extension looks overmuch like some sort of lasweapon component.

I admit the lion head shoulder pad does throw of the balance a bit.
