I just hope that sparkly dress is more of a "formal" outfit and she'll be more like Mulan where "Princess" is just a title nothing more.
She's more like one of the princesses from Miyazaki's films.

Yeah I don't like how the change Merida. To me what I think is pretty about Merida is that she's not extremely, that her look is existable and that in my opinion she gets pretty the more she grows as a character. That design change is totally and even worse for Cinderella.

Well, to be honest, her "Princess" design is relatively faithful to the original Pixar design (albeit certain facial features removed...). Unlike the other princesses that had the full makeover, Merida is the same. Problem is that by being labelled as a princess, she had an automatic ticket into the Disney Princess Club: meaning anything girly and sparkly will be shoved onto her, which is basically an inversion to her personality. If she wasn't born of nobility, there is an incredibly high possibility she wouldn't be in this situation.
It's a pity for everyone of the Disney Princesses, really. I think the reason why they changed them because many had "dated" appearances.
