On his way home from playing with his friends, Arian decided to take a stroll through the gardens outside his home. The greenery and smell of flowers was soothing and, glancing back and forth, he trotted through some of the pools of water and delighting in the feeling of cool waters splashing against his legs and belly. Having his fun, he stepped out and continued on, only pausing as he passed a particular shallow pool that was fed by a waterfall.

Ariana... The golden cleric who was his aunt, and himself. Arian looked down into the pool at the visage of the hippocampus mare, noting how different she appeared from him. His mother and father always said that he was her, despite the many differences. She was a proper and respected cleric, and Arian wanted to be the same. He wanted to make his family proud that he could sustain this reputation across multiple lives. Why else would Cascade see her as worthy enough to be returned to their family after her death? Arian turned side facing and lifted his front hoof high, adjusting the stance of his hindlegs to mirror the mosaic in the pool.

"Arian!" he heard his mother call and the young colt took a moment to fix up his mane so that it stood up similarly to the cleric's fish sail in the pool, as well as polishing his scales to a glistening shine. Tucking his neck frills close, he puffed up his chest and started a proud canter inside. When he saw his mother, a spark of pleasure burned inside him as she looked pleased by his efforts. He loved to see that pride in his parents, he would do everything he could to be just like he had been as the golden cleric.
