As we’re heading away from the show I notice someone that is particularly strange. A shinx is approaching us casually, but the biggest thing about them is their coloration. Most of them looks to be an ordinary breed but along the bridge of their muzzle, along their ears and the tip of their tail it’s more of a coloration you’d expect from the shiny variation. My head tilts to the side as I reflect on something that was said to me before, that pokemon turning shiny is an extremely rare circumstance. And for one to be turning shiny starting from the exact same locations. That alone raises my guard quite a bit, but not so much on the act of being defensive as why they are approaching me.

When they get close enough to be able to speak without having to shout they bow down, practically low enough that one might think they were practically prostrating themselves before me.

“I am so good to have found you. I wanted you to know that if it weren’t for you I would not be here today,” he says.

“Do we know you?” Maria asks defensively.

“No, you likely wouldn’t,” he shrugs and then stands up fully, a grin on their muzzle. “But I know of you well enough. There is a fair bit that I’m willing to share, but I think that the topic of conversation is probably not best suited to such crowded areas, if you know what I mean.”
