-Bio: Dart, along with his mentor and best friend Den, are two maintenance diesels from British Railways that became part of Sodor during the battle against the Diesel Brotherhood to save the Northwestern Railway from being modernized. Both he and Den are now part of the maintenance team along with Marlin, Harvey, and Victor, and are masters at their craft, especially as a duo. Dart is the quick-witted and the younger of the duo, always assisting Den with maintenance of both the railway and the engines, and is usually more of a doer than a thinker, and sometimes this can cause him to be rather clumsy and crashing into things, and grumbling the words "Dizzy Diesels" when nothing goes according to plan. Whilst polite enough, he can be quite cheeky and wisecracking, always making rather terrible jokes that can often annoy the other engines. And sometimes, Dart can be quite annoyed himself, coming off sometimes as grumpy, cantankerous, and irritable, always complaining about his own clumsiness, being overworked, or just in general if nothing goes as planned. But despite coming off as gruff and rude, Dart is still the friendly, fast and nimble little shunter who despite his size, can pull his weight incredibly well, and he or Den couldn't come across a problem they couldn't fix together.

-Artist’s Commentary: So now I finally got Dart, my favorite of the duo, and just in time now as DOTD and S3 as a whole ended. I was looking forward to as even though Den & Dart are those kind of characters that you'd like but aren't exactly as impactful as other characters in all 3 eras, they are interesting, and Dart's my favorite as whilst I like Den for his basis, him being this slow thinker, he didn't have too much of an impact on my and I didn't like his livery in the show. I like Dart because of his livery, but also his more wittier, feisty and grumpy persona, even though the "what he means is" gag did get pretty annoying. In a way, Dart kinda feels Awdry-esque given how he's this grumpy, but cheeky and quick-witted diesel, yet I think Awdry would only include him and Den as just one-offs. Unlike the actual series, whilst Dart is still grumpy and feisty, he's a little bit more friendlier, but can still be a wisecracking nuisance to the other engines. His basis I wanted to change, as the actual one from the show, the "Leys" Bagnall Shunter, whilst interesting, was too small for my liking. So I feel using a BR Class 02, something a little bit bigger, but still similar looking with 4 wheels would be a better basis for Dart. They are interesting and rare diesels, and hey, at least not Class 08's, and I like how its an 0-4-0 with a cab stairway in the back like American diesels usually have. So prepare to say more of Den & Dart in S4 next year. Enjoy!
